Crusty and I are meeting at the Lake Hope Lodge on June 19th at 12-12:30ish for some BBQ and to shoot the breeze. If you want to join us... come on down, over, up. Hope to see some peeps there.
They smoke their wings THEN fry them. I'm not a big fan of fried wings BUT if they are smoking them first then frying them... well that might be worth tasting. One of the flavors they have is "GRIPPO'S"! They are the best BBQ chip if you ask me.
I think I'm going to break convention and show up with something with more wheels than cylinders, I've not done any long distance highway on my hypermilemobile, so I'm curious how close to triple digits I can get it.

So it's gotta be thumper....or a Polaris/Can-Am/Morgan....or a Geo Metro with the 3-cyl base engine....or a single axle dump with an Audi 5-cyl engine. Pretty wide range of options if you ask me.
I'll be passing through Troy, NY tomorrow on my way home so I'll be stopping for lunch at the last Dinosaur I know with a decent parking lot (since Stamford closed). Should be there around noon.
By the way, if anyone ever finds themselves in the Lake Placid, NY area, DEFINITELY check out "The Tail O' the Pup." Great BBQ with outdoor seating. Had lunch there yesterday and the meat literally fell off the rib bones. Most tender ribs I can remember having in a long time.
I've got my route planned out for tomorrow morning. As usual, I'll be taking the faster, more direct route out, but I'll ride the more scenic route home. The forecast is for scattered thunderstorms in the morning, but nicer weather in the afternoon. I hope they're wrong and we have nice weather the whole day long. I'll be there as long as it doesn't start snowing. (I once got caught in a snowstorm in Colorado on June 21, 1975. I had to go 250 extra miles to get back to Colorado Springs)
Anyhow; I'm really looking forward to some good fellowship and BBQ! See everybody there!
It was raining like crazy this morning so I opted for the car The Q was good but the Smoked Turkey was above and beyond good. Can't believe Todd, Froggy and his better half Danny along with Ray and Joyce showed up. They all had LONG hauls to get here.
