Yesterday Facebook reminded me it had been six years since we all gathered at the Stamford Dinosaur BBQ. I had posted on the Facebook group that I missed those gatherings and I hoped we'd be able to resume them again soon.

That's when Froggy hit me with the bad news: The Stamford Dinosaur is permanently CLOSED! That leaves the Troy location being the only one with a decent parking lot! Damn...

I missed out on checking out the Buffalo location when I was in the area for the BMW MOA National Rally a few years back so I don't know about parking there. The WORST has to be the Newark location. I tried to find parking for fifteen minutes before just giving up and going home. If you can't find someplace in which to jam a relatively small motorcycle, you KNOW the parking situation SUCKS.

I've never had a problem finding motorcycle parking in Syracuse and that's in a fair sized city. The Harlem location could be a little tough, but not usually for bikes. Buffalo had OK parking, as I recall, but the food wasn't as good as at other locations.

My favorite Dinosaur is the original in Syracuse, followed by Troy and Harlem.

I'm going to be up in Massachusetts this August; after the WVBR. Maybe we could plan a Dinosaur run during that time frame...

Yeah, as long as you're on two wheels it USUALLY isn't a problem finding parking (though finding parking for MULTIPLE two-wheelers can be challenging at times). OTOH, Newark was just plain IMPOSSIBLE unless you wanted to pay the ridiculous parking fee at the sports arena (and I refused to do so).

The definition of luck is when you read a thread like this and the next thing that happens is you get an e-mail that they are sending the company jet to pick you up, take you to Syracuse and . . . .

Speaking of parking, there were two "Ted's Restaurants" in Connecticut. Some of us met there once for lunch for their awesome cheeseburgers. The original location is still open; the place where we all met (the one that had decent parking and a good sized dining room) closed a few years back. Why is it the places with decent parking seem to be the first to close??
