Has The Whole World Gone Nuts; or is it just me? It seems like people who I once thought were level headed are acting like they've got bats in their bellfry. Not to mention that people who I thought were just a little loonie are now so far out in the Twilight Zone that even Rod Serling would have trouble finding them.
Did all the isolation from the Wuflu push folks over the edge? Does the Chief Senile Idiot share his mental state with the general population? Have the blatantly obvious lies of the News media made folks a bit schitzy? Is it all a plot of the Chinese? Or maybe it's the Russians?
Then again; maybe it's just me. Maybe the world is doing just fine, but it's my cheese that's done slipped off my cracker. I'm really starting to feel like I should be Daffy Duck. Woo-hoo; Woo-hoo; Woo-hoo!!!
Yes, whole shebang done gone coocoo for cocoa puffs
Rain washed most of the sand and salt in the Northern Adirondacks....disconnected cable TV, got banned from Crackbook, never Tweeted or texted nor do I want a cell phone, maintain my land line for connectivity...
IMHO maybe a lot of people are in declining health, declining income, and are generally unhappy/angry and they are starting to freak out. Get back to the basics, people, things will simplify, and you will be happier.
I think people are so reliant on tech for so much in their world, they even go to tech to know how to "feel", which is scared, enraged, guilty, and quite doomed. And so, they don't observe and process info to find their own conclusions, they just do as they see and hear on their 6" brains that's held in their left hand.
I've been working through the whole damned thing (day job, anyway - concert company has been shuttered for over a year now).
People are getting even more stupid, yes. Customers, politicians, talking heads on the news, all of 'em. I avoid as much as I can.
Drove my '70 Charger to work today. We're still getting acquainted with each other, but been making progress bit by bit - ran a new wire underhood to get my temp gauge working again; adjusted the kickdown linkage so the trans kicks down when I boot the throttle; set the idle mixture correctly (it had no hot idle and was hesitating at cruise - secondaries worked fine, but the primary/idle circuit sucked. Turns out the PO had one screw 6 turns out, one screw all the way in on the seat , so I set them both to 1.5 turns out and it seems much happier now).
Driving a 51 year old car...makes me happy. Helps me forget all this shit. So does nice weather and the potential for getting back to my exercise regimen (6 miles a day on the mountain bike, and 35 miles on Sundays).
Now, if I could just get back to work, doing concerts again....
