Kawasaki decided to bring back an updated KLR650. I loved my 1999 model, and can't help but wonder what it would be like to ride one two generations up from it.

It has EFI, ABS, a host of other upgrades, and perhaps most importantly, a new redesigned Doohickey! It's still a KLR at heart though, which means it's budget friendly compared to a lot of other adventure bikes.

I'd love to have one. Or a KTM Super Adventure R. They are at opposite ends of the Adventure Bike spectrum, but nothing in the middle really catches my eye.

KTM 2020 390 Adventure is new $6000. Wet weight is less than 400 lbs.

They offer a 790 if you need more power. Wet weight is around 460 lbs.

I've owned many Kawi's in my time, none of them offered great suspension.

I like the new KLR. However, if I were to get an "Adventure" single, it would be a Royal Enfield Himalayan.

"What is the seat height?"

I'm pretty sure I read that it is 34".

Two Seasons,

KTM has upgraded the 790 Adventure to the 890 Adventure. More power, etc. It's a really, really nice bike. If I was in the market for a true middle weight, and planned to do quite a bit of off road roaming, it would be the 890 Adventure R. That said, I still rather go all the way to the top of the mountain with the 1290 Adventure R, or just cruise along on the KLR650.

Squids,

That Motto Guzzi is a nice bike. It's a looker for sure. Seems to fall right into that middle weight category. It seems like it has good on road manners, with just enough off road chops to get by. For the money though, I like the KTM 890 Adventure more.

Thanks Michael. I was waiting it out. Brad, Ed Desimone rides one. I think it is a great looking machine. I catch myself staring at it at WVBR.
