I don't know where you got this jpeg but...

It's a FEDERAL LAW that the U.S. NAVY flag be displayed FIRST!

Obey the law!

It is federal law you have to look on NAVY flag first no matter at which order the flags are displayed.

I did not serve in the military. Instead I was in law enforcement. However my oldest sister Pat spent 4 years in the Air Force. My older brother spent 6 years in the Navy as a Navy Diver (AD15 USS Prairie). I'm very proud of them both.

My paternal grandfather was a Marine. My maternal grandfather was in the infantry during WW1 and survived being gassed in the battle of the Meuse–Argonne. I come from from pretty strong stock.

God bless everyone that has served. Thanks to all you men and women who have served.

I know I'm a day late, but thank you to all that served, I am humbled. And thank you to Ebutch for a pic (above) that I can completely agree with.
Like Zane (above), I too did not serve in the military, and I, too did a career in LE. My older brother retired from the Navy as a Senior Chief weather-guesser, our Dad was in the US Army in Germany just after WWII, his brother was in the USNA (Annapolis) and graduated as the war ended; their Dad was Navy during WWI but never got further away than San Diego. One of my Mom's uncles survived the Bataan Death March only to have the POW ship he was on sunk by the US Navy.
Bless them all, for without which we would not be living the blessings of America.

I too did not serve, although it came very close for me to join the Navy. That was a long conversation with dad. So dad served as a gunners mate on the USS Caperton. It was a destroyer and dad served during Korea. He ended up as a 1st class Petty Officer. I have many pictures that he took during his time aboard ship.

I wanted to follow my brother into the Navy. I took the ASVAB and did well enough to qualify for electronic technician school and then nuclear power school. I was going to run reactors for the Navy. I passed my physical and was scheduled to take my oath and leave on a Thursday. The Tuesday before I was supposed to leave, my father had a massive heart attack. My mom said she couldn't take care of him by herself and asked me not to leave. Being the dutiful son, I stayed and my life took a much different direction.

We buried my brother Wednesday.
Two Army vehicles were there, one being the hearse.
Two man Honor Guard and a bugler.

For a horrible situation it was beautiful...

Thank you to all the living, vets and current service personnel.

Z

Zane, exactly the route I took, nukes are a very different group.
I ditched the program the day before my oral board to qualify for operator and hit the fleet as a Third Class ETN.
Finished the last two and a half years fixing radios and cruising the Pacific.
What an education!!
