I finished the dark walnut stain and wiped it down. Went in the house and drank some water. I then thought about the clouds I saw when I came in. Went back out and put it in the garage. Three minutes later it was raining. BLESSED!

I will put blue or grey wash on bathroom side this evening. No bathroom door hippy house for a couple of days here.

Today I brought in the first peppers.

Not certain of the variety. Neighbor tossed me a pot of starts after he planted his garden the second or third time.
Frost came a few times this spring.

Those look to be cayenne peppers. Wait and watch them turn colors. I've got golden cayenne growing...

I scored 3 more doors this week. Two 24" and a 30" with beveled glass panes and brass inlay. I will paint the brass to match the stainless hardware on the door for my office. They will be stained dark walnut after I cut the hinges and latches into the knotty pine doors. I have three more 30" doors to replace after these. One of them will be a test as I have three stained glass panels to install in it from the back door on my first house. It will go on the pantry.

This door was built to swing the opposite direction. I cut the hinge pockets off and cut new ones. Removed 1/4" from bottom of door for a correct gap. Then used a hand plane to remove the bevel on the latch side. Next step is to paint the brass inlay to match the stainless hardware. Then it will get sanded and some dark walnut stain.

The bi-fold doors will be replaced when I find a set I like and can stain dark walnut.

End of the hallway.

Master's outhouse.

Now to disassemble and stain.

I think Vern can appreciate how much went into taping the brass inlay so I could paint it.

I glued felt to the bottoms of the feet on the cast iron scotty dog. It was my grandfather's. I remember sitting on it when I was small enough that it was like a pony to me. I hope my diaper was clean.

Well, it's not always good luck. I thought a Kamp-rite tent cot would be neat for WV camping. I found a local one on Craig's List. Bought it at a gas station. Brought it home. Like new. Still had some packing plastic on the legs. Nice cot. Nice rain fly. The tent is missing. Won't be neat now. I don't get some people.

I keep it in a fire safe. I may find another place for some of my memorabilia that was hid behind the door prior to the glass.

By the way . . . the workmanship on the doors looks absolutely top notch.

Well done . . .

Be sure to keep the original of that DD-214 in the fire safe as well . . . . It's amazing how many things that gets requested for,

The ole red white and blue never gets old around my house. I heard an old person complaining that their kids never come around. That my friend is a failure to train them up in the way they should go. Because if you do that, when they get older they will not depart from it. We do game nights at my house. This was old folks game night. So, it started at 3:30 PM. That way we feed them, play games, and they get home before their early bed times. We do the same with the kids. Today we had cornbread muffins, chili, kale salad, and apple pie. We played Uno with out keeping score. The person that goes out is celebrated for as long as it takes to deal the next hand. I truly live a blessed life.

Nice ... everything!
I used to have a very similar drafting table.
Wish I still had it.
I took drafting for four years, just before CAD became a thing...and less skilled...I digress

I too was before CAD, and took every drafting class they had. I was a student teacher in shop class, teaching first period the same class I had second period. I was paired up with the class clown by an extremely wise shop teacher in one of the drafting classes. The two of us did a mural for extra credit. I was straight A's in Industrial Arts and didn't need the credit, but (you will love his name) Bob Barker did. He was great at choosing colors and mixing paints. A year after I got out of the military I was making a delivery to Curtis Dyna Products in Westfield, Indiana. There was Bob drawing in the drafting room. Gave me a warm fuzzy feeling.

I enjoyed drafting class as well.
I didn't pursue the carrer, instead I when with commercial art....just before the Mac came and took over.
I guess I'm just an inbetween type guy

I have been looking for my spare Buell key for months. I figured out how to find it today. I ordered a blank off flea bidet today. After I get it, I will cut it to match the key I have. Then poof, the spare will show up.

On a lighter note. I had a tax bill from years past nip me in the hiney. I used my Buelltoberfest funds to pay it. As a result I have been hustling a little to get them replaced in time. Today I completed the task. I have been cleaning out the shed and selling junk. For years I collected milk crates here and there. After emptying 36 of the boogers I found out they are little hot cakes at the right price. I was going to pop them off 5 at a time. When the second person asks how many I have and takes them all. I am funded to BBQ level!

Bill provided his personal cabin on his property while I was at Twos free of charge do to a computer glitch that allowed room 3 to be over booked. That guy is top notch!

I have to go meet with H&R Block tomorrow to have them fix some more of my taxes they messed up. This time it is State taxes. Lucky? I bought peace of mind from them. They have to pay any taxes I owe from the mistake.

I always thought a person is supposed to help their neighbors when they need it. There was a widow living across the street that I kept an eye out for. When ever she needed something I could help with I did. She got remarried this year to a great guy. They are good for each other. Her mower I worked on from time to time kicked the bucket and he has a very nice machine. She gave it to me yesterday and he towed it to my house with his. It is a very nice 7 year old machine. Tonight I opened the valve cover. He said he adjusted the valves twice but couldn't get it to run right. The nubs that go on both valve stems were laying inside the valve area a few inches from the valves. the intake rocker was turned sideways disconnected and with .500"+ of clearance. The stud for the pivot for the intake rocker arm was unscrewed from the head over a 1/4". I really think it will run tomorrow when I reassemble it. I actually got it to fire up for 15 seconds before opening the valve cover. Amazing.

Why am I and have I been reducing the amount of stuff I own? Why do I/we struggle with hoarding?

Example: I just bought a set of circlip pliers off E-Bay. Why? I have a project requiring them. I opened a couple of tool boxes yesterday. There is my old un-used set of circlip pliers. Aghrrrr! The herd thinning continues.

With the acquisition of Riding Mower #3 I need to release 2 of them. I like having a spare available as I have a handshake contract to cut a lawn a mile from my house. There is a fourth rider on that property that has not been started in 2 years. I should service it and just use a jump pack to start it when needed. It is reasoned by me that each mower is a different tool for slightly different uses. We all know that is a crock. Today I will place an ad to relocate the wheelie machine. A rear engine Snapper. It has a 28" deck and 16 hp v-twin. Market place here we come.

Oh; wait a minute, I already have two.

Never mind.

I own six dremel tools, for the same reason.

They hide, until you buy a replacement...then they pop up in a place you SWEAR you checked, nineteen times, before you bought the new one.

Tell me about it . . . . I have cases and cases and cases of stuff . . and a "contractor on the way" deadline.

I've been trying to get some of it to good homes but I am under strict orders to never put a trash can on the curb that isn't filled to the brim.

Somehow . . . I ended up with a handsome collection of Klein long shaft screwdrivers.
