If Democrats pack the Court, there are no more Republicans. The whole democratic republic will be over. Once Democrats pack the Court, they never again need to persuade American voters to support their policies. One of their first policies in that new era will be to add hard-left Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico as the 51st and 52nd American states. That means four more Democrat Senate votes and a permanent Democrat party majority.

You see, the hard-left Democrat party views our American political system the same way Turkey president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan viewed democracy before becoming a dictator for life: “Democracy is like a train. We shall get out when we arrive at the station we want.” This time around, once the Democrats win, they will change the rules so they can never lose again

Pwnzor, that diagnosis seems both likely and a recipe for a Biden heart attack, which horribly would solve problems for the Dems and help Comrade Harris Rule.

Once again . . . I stand by my, long standing, assessment of the two . . . . . it's akin to watching a couple retarded kids in a playground fight.

We deserve better leaders.

We're left with a "choose your idiot" scenario.

Whoever thought we see a PRESIDENTIAL debate with folks yelling "shut up" and "you're a clown".

For a good perspective . .. listen to ANY of the foreign media today.

Court, the sh$% show probably won't change any minds. Biden has zero concept of truth. Trump has zero concept of tolerating insults.

Past that, the Media will simply opine & lie to suit their indoctrination.

Since I started the Debate with the opinion Trump is a bombastic jerk, and Biden a pathological liar, my mind didn't change.

Since I'm voting based on actual job performance by 2 guys I don't like... All that matters is...

Trump has made some surprising progress towards world peace, keeping in mind that China will go to war on the whim of their Glorious Leader just as Germany did in the 1930s, and his pro energy, pro business policies made my Thrift Savings plan increase by about 25% after the Barry/Joe admin. made me very little.

And Joe has been wrong on every foreign policy opinion, including telling his boss to not get bin Laden, for 47 years, wants to send armed men to our homes to take our property and rights, and will, if you can believe his support for the Green Leap Forward, ban private internal combustion engine vehicles, just in time for me to finally get back in shape to throw my leg over my Cyclone's saddle comfortably.

Seems pretty clear to me. Plus the repeated claims that "Trump will refuse to accept a loss in 2020 so we'll riot until we win" from multiple powerful monsters...

Keep in mind I Understand Danegeld.

I've Sung this poem at campfires for decades. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dane-geld_(poem)

( Never won a bardic circle with it, but often was handed mead after )

Zergnet, aka click bait central, has a story of a "former Pence aid" who apparently parrots lies and "warns" "Trump will destroy America" based on the myth Trump ordered protesters dispersed so he could walk to a local church for a photo-op.

that didn't happen, at least not as described by the Left, it is, however, truth, that the Secret Service would have been idiots to allow their charge to walk through a mob of screaming people calling for him to be murdered.

I'm pretty much right there with you and I spend more time with music than media.

Good example . . . .less than an hour ago the Commission on Presidential Debates reported:

quote:

The Commission on Presidential Debates announced Wednesday that it would add “additional structure” to the remaining faceoffs between President Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden after Tuesday night’s chaotic clash in Cleveland, saying “more orderly discussion is needed.”

Fine. I think we're all in agreement there.

But, the New York Times reported:

quote:

The Commission on Presidential Debates says it will change the debate format after Trump’s frequent interruptions

You see the problem . . . . I'm not sure if Trump or Biden lied. I am 100% certain the New York Times did.

My uncle has a country place
That no one knows about
He says it used to be a farm
Before the Motor Law
And now on Sundays, I elude the eyes
And hop the turbine freight
To far outside the wire where my
White-haired uncle waits

Jump to the ground as the turbo slows
To cross the borderline
Run like the wind as excitement shivers
Up and down my spine

But down in his barn
My uncle preserved for me
An old machine
For fifty-odd years
To keep it as new
Has been his dearest dream

I strip away the old debris
That hides a shining car
A brilliant Red Barchetta
From a better vanished time
We'll fire up the willing engine
Responding with a roar
Tires spitting gravel
I commit my weekly crime

Wind
In my hair
Shifting and drifting
Mechanical music
Adrenaline surge

Well-oiled leather
Hot metal and oil
The scented country air
Sunlight on chrome
The blur of the landscape
Every nerve aware

Suddenly ahead of me
Across the mountainside
A gleaming alloy air-car
Shoots towards me two lanes wide
Oh, I spin around with shrieking tires
To run the deadly race
Go screaming through the valley
As another joins the chase

Ride like the wind
Straining the limits
Of machine and man
Laughing out loud with fear and hope
I've got a desperate plan
At the one-lane bridge
I leave the giants stranded
At the riverside
Race back to the farm
To dream with my uncle
At the fireside

Another oblique Heinlein reference?

Not so much, although I first learned the concept from Heinlein. Kipling didn't originate the idea either... and even the Danes weren't first to pull the Protection Racket business.

Since most history taught in America & Europe is highly Euro-centric, it wouldn't surprise me that some tribe in northern India was doing the same thing a thousand years before the Danes took advantage of a King more interested in the Status Quo than fighting to protect his lands & people. Paying off the extortionist is the easy short term solution.

See also Neville Chamberlain, ( Germany 1930's ) Barry The Weasel, ( Iran 2010's ) and a lot of guys who's names are long forgotten, for good reason.

Although the above 2 examples are not alike. Neville was, I think, misguided, and took bad advice while rejecting the wisdom of folk considered warmongers and alarmists. Barry, well, he also took horrible advice while rejecting good, but I have less confidence that he meant to do the best for his Nation. But I admit to some bias. Barry was a Commie. I'm an unrepentant counter-revolutionary. So it's unlikely we'd agree on much, especially my opinion on his motivations.

As to Just Joe? His motivation may actually be relatively... selfish, but not ideological.

I tend to agree with the pundits that say he's the kind who can change on a dime, who will say what he thinks you want to hear. So he may passionately call for the abolition of the ( fill in the blank ) on Tuesday morning, and valiantly defend the same thing in the afternoon. That's not ideology, that's pathology. And he's got a solid record of that going back to the days they sold 454 cubic inch V-8s with less HP than my Dodge Minivan.

Debates.
A true debate doesn't need nor should it have a "moderator".

My thoughts?

1. Here are X number of subjects most requested by voters for debate.
2. A coin flip determine who starts.
3. Time limits are hard limits. If you can't make your point in the allotted time you should have been more concise.
4. The coin flip winner selects a subject and gets X number of minutes to give their view on the subject. Their view is to be their view only. No questions and no claims as to the opposition's view.
5. The other candidate gets the same number of minutes to give their view with the same rules. They then select the next subject and begin first on that subject.
6. This alternating format continues with no doubling back to previous subjects.
7. At the end of the debate each candidate gets X number of minutes for a summation at which time they could readdress a subject.
Again the summation would have a hard time limit.

Hard time limits might require cutting off mics and a buzzer to drown out speech.

Court:

"Whoever thought we see a PRESIDENTIAL debate with folks yelling "shut up" and "you're a clown". "

Both those were Biden, also the "you're a liar."

Trump interrupted more and insulted Biden's intelligence.

The Euros are saturated with CNN type news coverage about Trump. I've been talking to some and they have no idea of reality.

Frankly, I don't care about Trump's shortcomings much, aside from cringing as they launch. The man gets the job done like nobody I've ever seen, and has been the target of nothing short of vicious political coup and outright sedition.

I keep waiting for the perpetrators to be held to account. I'm impatient.

https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2020/10/thi s-cycles-most-hard-hitting-ad.php

Oh, insult, surely.

Just Joe may have faulty filters on his racist jokes, but he had the smarts to stay in an easy job that pays really well for decades, and made his family billions?

( millions, verified. Some legit, too. ; ) I think the Chinese government bribe/investment at 1.6 billion plus was distributed to 3+ politician kid's who fronted the money laundering. So the Biden Clan might only be holding high hundreds of millions, and the coke & strippers life burns through money & honor like a Molotov cocktail in SoCal. Summer brush. )

It's like with George the Younger, often accused of being dim, he did learn to fly jet fighters. While the act of controlling an airplane in flight may be taught to a Chimp, ( heck, even I can do it! ) Landing a F-102 takes some remembering & figuring, (it's a delta with critical Angle of Attack requirements) or it kills you.

So... Insult.

They flowed freely. One thing the "debaters" have in common is belligerent response to criticism. Or, both get nasty when challenged. It can be fun to watch when they pick on people you don't like, ( and infuriating when you do like their targets ) but it's annoying as heck doubled up with the 2 of them head to head. Ymmv. You may have enjoyed it.

Interesting volunteer poll site! Self selected opinions are as valid as solicited ones, I guess. More, probably, but I wonder about how the "I won't tell the pollster my real opinion to avoid hatred" factor applies.

Type A looks similar to a "Michigan left"...

Asshats in NC are going to force everyone to turn right (and then go a bit and make a U-turn if they wanted to go left) with the HWY 17 expansion in my neck of the woods.

They put tar down and dropped gravel (without any pressing into place) on my 'private road race course' a few years back. I complained they didn't do shit...

Man, this complaining and bitching sure is FUN!!!
