Now, waitaminute. I thought the upstairs rooms over the lodge were not in play. I'd store my insulin, beer and victuals in the fridge and freezer there. Given that I'll be sharing Eric's cabin, I'll be bringing soft/collapsible coolers and provisions for coffee and campside cooking.
Although I might hazard a guess, what's the story on the bathhouse?
Details, details. Seems I read a while back that the lodge rooms were unavailable. I sit and type, corrected.
OK then. Looking forward to seeing/riding/shooting shiznit with all you miscreants. Just had a weekend full of visiting with family and friends, but no riding... the PC is sitting with 100% fresh tires, a tuneup, and a full tank of gas. I'd hoped for a late-day run over the Foothills Parkway, but had to wash the dogs and order pizza for dinner.
@Brad Yep .. room 1 , fridge and shower right outside the room.
I'm just hoping my clutch holds out. It's a few turns from the very end of adjustment. Have a new clutch kit but it came in the day I left town and I'm getting back just in time to ride up there. I thought, I'll just take it easy but then I remembered every time I've ever been riding. So I'm back to .. hope it holds.
Not pretty this batch. I am still learning. I held out the saw dust and went heavy on the paraffin. That caused to lint to become too laden to fire on one spark. These prefer a lighter to a striker. They still burn well with lots of energy given off.
"She has certainly been neglected. Maybe somebody will take her home.
Eric, is Lee still looking for a bike?"
I've been turning that quextion over in my head for some time about the Beemer. My mechanic, a legendary BMW guy, said I should do a "winter restoration."
So- my mechanic skills aren't bad at all, they're just not extensive. To do said "restoration" will require more time, skill, and money than I expect to have in the near future. Hate to part with that thing, but maybe it'd be proper to hand over the 1977 BMW R75/7 to someone without my deficiencies towards caring for it.
Comments gladly accepted. In the meantime, I guess I get to abuse the PC800 over the course of this coming weekend.
I can appreciate the prospect of re-animating an old KLR650 or DR650, due to the simplicity and abundance of parts. Unless I hit the lottery, I'll never have the two things we all wish for at the same time but never get... disposable time, disposable income. What to do?
Brad - I'd let the BMW go. Without putting some serious time and effort into it, you'll always be wondering if this time it will start, will it keep running, etc.
+1, Matthew. It's really not in that bad of shape, but to do right by the machine, I should pass it on. Overall it's sound mechanically, fixed the charging system problem, mostly it's just a fair amount of this and that. However, that adds up to time/money/expertise beyond me.
I just got confirmation that Gretchen, our daughter Peyton, her friend Breelynn and possibly an aspiring young man named Nathan will be with us Saturday afternoon.
