We got a new Australian Shepherd, just born six days ago. Her name is Lady.    She's still just a little nugget, and we won't know what color her eyes are for some time yet. Stay tuned for the reveal. Her mother is a blue merle with blue eyes, and her father is all black with VERY bright blue eyes. Of course we are hoping for blue eyes, but you never can tell. Our existing Aussie, named Adelaide, will be 8 this year. Get ready for the jealousy! All kinds of things are going to be in question, such as who gets to sit where on the couch, who sleeps next to whom on the bed. My bet is I get one dog in each armpit every night  | ||

Rick, you're more than welcome to come visit ours. Brad, we don't have her yet. We have chosen her, but we can't pick up until she is 8 weeks old. We can visit at 4 weeks, it's a 4 hour drive just to look but can't touch.... nah, I'll wait | ||

OK, got it. SOP per picking a pup from a new litter. How cool! I'd LOVE to have my pick of a new Basenji litter of pups, but they're so rare... and a purebred with pedigree is $$$$. When I lose D'Ogee, I'm hoping to rescue another B if I can. Marcia is of the opinion that we shouldn't replace the two we have when they're gone- I fear we're gonna go 'round on that one. I just can't see living a good life without a dawgie or, ideally two. We shall see. Again, congrats Matthew!  | ||

Always loved the working dogs. Aussies, Queensland Heelers, Border Collies. My sis has raised guide dogs and for urban search and rescue, works with her Aussie, Queensland Heelers and Border Collies. Her primary advanced-trained Aussie can do cadaver search AND helo egress. Pic is of sis with her dog strapped to her chest (combat rig). Final graduation exercise is rappelling out of the helo to the ground through the trees. Dog can't freak out. Aussies are QUICK learners but they sure don't tolerate boredom.   | ||

She's here! She only puked once in the car on the 5 hour drive home. She slept most of the time...   She's right at home up on the couch.   So far, Addi is OK with her. BUT... she does not like to share toys.  | ||

She smells like cotton candy. Lady and Addi are learning to play together... it was a little rocky earlier this morning when the sharing of toys became a bit of an issue. By this evening, they were tugging on the same rope and dodging around.    | ||
