I had mentioned that I was going to make some purchases of things, before the potential supply chain problems from the Covid-19 virus. Here's one I picked up Sunday. Home Depot had it assembled with fluids (fluids are about $70 and not normally included). They also had it marked $100 lower than the current price. I did a small pile to test it and break it in. Works great! I was about a week away from running out of split wood anyway, so timing is just right.

We've had Cora for a year now as of today. Yes, lucky!

I caught the moon coming over my neighbors tree this evening.

It has moved across the sky, and I am enjoying a fire.

RD, we had very similar beautiful night skies here last night. Sometimes the greatest beauty comes free, from the simplest things. ; )

So working from home during the "Wuhan Dynasty" allowed me to re-organize the Man Cave a bit. Disclaimer: I'm a pretty organized guy (military service), but not beyond stuffing crap out of sight when required. . . So while I knew I had this gear, was fun pulling it out of the motorcycle closet and re-organizing...

Armor-less jacket, but good for casual wear, like new.

Tail and Tank Bag, bought the tail bag from Al at American Sportbike during the close-out.

Uly side case bags, still new in the plastic.

Lightweight gloves, not yet worn.

H20 bladders and briefcase/messenger bag, all like new.

Not posting for sale, just feeling "lucky" to have acquired these items over the last decade with the intent of long-term stewardship (and use).

Be safe, ride safe,

Paul

Yes, it's important! It's airbrush thinner. How else am I going to learn anything new? Not meds or anything like that. Pretty crazy though. It's not here yet. That last zip code is still not my zip code. I should pick up the adapter for my air line to compressor tomorrow morning at the hardware. When I ordered the airbrush and paid for it on the 7th, the potheads in california sat around till the 23rd when I contacted them. Then they shipped it. My MIL used to airbrush art on fingernails. She became chemical sensitive and had to stop. She gave me a high end compressor she had. I've always wanted to dabble in airbrushing.

Well; I got lucky yesterday when I put the transmission back in the '78 Iron Head. I watched a Youtube video and the fat shirtless guy showed me how to do it, At the end, he said that I should plan on it taking all day, as it took him three hours. Since I've never installed a 4 speed Sportster transmission, I expected it to take me quite a while. Even with all my miscues, I figured out how to do it and got it accomplished in well under two hours. Plus, I even figured out a little trick that made it easier.

And I accomplished it with a Migraine "Hangover".

Life is Good!

I put some wood in the trailer for sand duty.

Shovelled into the long one.

And the short one.

Then I tried laying some block pavers.

The fence will get 2" spacers to lift it. Then I will have to make sure the holes are deep enough to set the ball capped poles all the way down on top.

I have been staring the answer in the face for 2 days. On the long end of my little fenced in porch patio project I am going to put a strip of white rocks in between the black granite and the pavers to: 1 let the water on the granite go into the ground before washing out the sand in between the pavers and 2 make a stripe of white that will contrast and blend the different colors of the two materials. I started pricing white stones. The answer is my mining operation. There are white stones under the black granite. I will be collecting them and replacing their volume with cheap sand. I'll feel like I am collecting quarters.

Looking good!

Early this morning, I hear the "chirp" from my bed of a smoke detector in another room complaining it's battery is dead. Hmm. Didn't I OCD all my batteries on "spring forward"? Guess not.

Oh, heck, I can ignore it, until... Nope.

Down the hall, "chirp"! Ok, easy time. Stool to stand on, rotate, pull, unplug. Grab battery from drawer in near darkness, great, one left in a 2pack box. Replace battery, stand on stool, discover the drugs to fix the crippling gout attack in my left hand haven't kicked in yet, drop detector.

Reassemble detector. Try again, awkward one handed, dropped again. It's broken for sure, now. Get reading glasses, reassemble, back on stool, and... Drop again! Pieces everywhere! Darn. Ok, buy a new one tomorrow. Time to sleep.

Lay down. Eyes close. "Chirp"!

Get back up. Pull battery just installed from broken detector. Sigh, head for bed.

" Chirp! "

Search resumes. Bedroom 3, full of stupid piles. Have to move piles one handed, cursing, get to detector, remove, carefully, replace dead battery with one just obtained from drawer & dropped 3 times. Carefully, painfully, replace detector in ceiling. Joy!

Back to bed.

"Chirp!"

Cursing, back to B3. Remove detector. Remove battery. Move to kitchen, fire up multiple lights, get reading glasses, battery dated use by 2013.

Oh.

Back to drawer. Find pack dated use by 2031. Replace battery. Back to B3, carefully, painfully replace detector.

Using destroyed model, search for replacement, read manuals online to verify wiring harness, verify in stock at Home Despot, write down model, and tonight should replace all with new. ( more than a decade old, now )

I can be slow, but I'm just assuming this was "A Sign" from ( your choice ) and I'm going with it.

Have a nice day!

I entered a free drawing on a gun site last week for $100 voucher and won. I picked out a High Noon IWB holster and a 5.11 Tactical Duty Belt. Should be here Wednesday. Here is the guy's ebay store: https://www.ebay.com/str/oddsandendswell

He sells second hand holsters and gear.

I make my own wind!

If you like wind powered devices, you should Google Vollis Simpson Whirligig. He was just outside of Wilson, NC and built LOTS or whirligigs. After he passed, the city of Wilson created a park in his honor with a lot of his whiligigs. I have yet to check it out.

I had a knife I never used. It was an EdgeMark #52. The EdgeMark was all pretty and shiny with stag handles. It just isn't the utility knife I want. I wanted to trade it for an Esee 4 or 5. I was going to remove the coating if I got an Esee. I found a well used Tops Silent Hero on a gun board I frequent and traded for it. I am happy happy happy. The Silent Hero is the kind of knife I have been wanting for camping. The pretty is gone on this one, the edge is great, and it has the smooth black linen micarta grips. I will be a happy camper.

We have the next door to be replaced. I ordered this one through Lowes because Tracey liked it. It is called knotty pine. It is hung on stainless hardware and will be stained Dark Walnut tomorrow. The bathroom side will then receive a grey wash over the stain to help it blend with the room.
