And the police - along with their bosses, the elected officials (and this goes all the way to the White House) - need to grow a pair, and shut this violence down. Protest? Means voices, not destruction and violence. Use the First Amendment to your heart's content - speak out, march peacefully, call out your representatives. Break ONE window? Punch ONE citizen? Attack ONE cop? Vandalize ONE statue? That is outside of the First Amendment, and you have now opened yourself up for arrest, because you have now broken the law. Speak, but do not touch. Laws against violence, assault, vandalism, and theft do not get put on hold because of the First Amendment. Law Enforcement - and the White House - would do well to remember that fact. | ||

I was on riot duty in Germany for "Stop Startbahn West". On the first night my group exited a C141 and were billeted on base. The next night we went into the woods to look at the "protesters" up close. We were never armed with more than a riot baton. The polizei had more. It was the only time I was scared while in the Air Force. There were 44 in my group. We were the night shift. There were 80,000 protesters when I was there. They never knew we were in the dark in the woods with them. I didn't realize how many pictures were on the internet from back then. I didn't see it as being grey so much as there was a great overbearing amount of olive drab and brown dirt and mud. The base was standard cold war 70s and 80s. | ||

Fun fact, the road supposed to be closed by police they protested against. Another fun fact, the driver is black, the two women were struck are white, but news did not mention it. One more fun fact, BLM participated in the protest. It looks like the two women were struck are Antifa members. So we probably suppose to say one terrorist is dead and one is injured. "Protesters" jumped in front of a moving car. Because No One Would Dare obey the laws of physics! Or fail to stop when known murderous thugs were likely to murder them. Ok, sure, you shouldn't go anywhere near a "protest", ever. Don't go to work in any Democrat Ruled City if it might intersect with paid mobs. And how a guy ends up driving on a closed road past police roadblocks is a good question. But when your car gets mobbed by thugs from a Marxist Revolutionary Terror Group that have already shown murderous intent? Stopping is suicide. Anyone who dies trying to murder a guy in a car is just adding felony murder charges to the event organizer. Not the driver/assault victim. | ||
