So I broke my right rear turn signal while working on my road bicycle. Took a while to figure out a fix that has a chance of holding for a while (other than tape).
And here it is:

After deciding to use the 1 1/4 inch nails here is what the repair looks like:

I did have to file off some excess material from where it will touch the bike. I set the depth a little light:

Only time will tell how it will "turn" out.

Ourdee,

Not sure what glue would work on this type of plastic. My first thought was screws but the small amount of separation does not leave much room for a screw. And they can not come out from the base side.

Really, there are extra ones floating around out there?

Turn signals are usually the very first thing I take off the bike and give away to somebody who might want them.

I use hand signals exclusively.

I haven't had a Buell for years now, but I'm sure there are a few "extra" signals floating around. Lots of people swap them out for smaller, more aesthetically pleasing ones.

They were also used on many other brands. No doubt, take off parts can be found many places.

Innovative band-aid though.

I went as far as removing the entire circuit from the wiring harness. For my Suzuki...I just found some bright mini LED's for about twenty bucks a pair. Both bikes have large and hideous OEM turn signals. As people perceive the Suzuki as a "dirt bike," the signals are good to have. As nobody knows what the Buell is, nobody seems to care.

There are only . . . . . For the most part. . . . . 2 suppliers of turn signals. One in Japan, the other in Italy.

As a result you’ll often find the same model showing up on various brands. Many of you recall that from 1993 to 1997 Buell and Ducati shared the same (almost . . . . The Ducati stop/run switch operation was the reverse of Buell) hand controls.

Caveat: my information is based on what I knew years ago and there may now be a plethora of manufacturers about the globe.

You can find those signal lights on fleaBay brand new. Just search for Buell turn signals. You'll get a bunch of Chinese signals, but there are also some New in Box lights, as well.
