Which Triumph?
A 955 Sprint ST similar to the one pictured here.
I think I put 250,000 on Buells, they have their quirks just like every other bike.
The Triumph triples have their weak spots but it's nothing that I can't fix easily enough.
We're just waiting for this hunker down and try not to croak bit to pass before the deal can be consummated.

I know it has saddlebags, I'm not sure about the top box. That crud will look like this:

The Sprint and Trophy were short list bikes when I was looking to upgrade from my first bike an 800 Marauder. Then because it also had bags, I rode a beat up S3. That particular bike was not for me, but as Crusty said, it "spoke to me", ( loudly). I started following BADWEB to learn more and when Harley announced the closing of Buell and the prices tanked over winter, I knew I could get one for a lot less than any other short list bike. I've never ridden a Motus, or even seen one up close, but it "speaks" to me in the same way.

That Sprint looks like Brad's old bike... nice color

Man, I loved that Sprint. Can't tell by the pic above, but that one might be a really cool metallic blue they did during those years. Vern did an awesome job on the body repair and paint... British Racing Green. He said when he went to his paint guy he had to look up a mix code from the 70's. Once he got the little can of green, it said "Jaguar"- friggin kewl!

The whole bike was pretty dang well designed, even the aesthetics. Later generations started down the origami/manga route, even the undertail exhausts. The best thing about those Triumphs is the 3 banger motor. Great power and torque, topped off with a gorgeous sound. Took me a while to learn how best to ride that thing- I eventually learned to not shift gears as much, let the motor do its thing.

That bike made it to TWoS, BITA, and a W. VA rally. Sold it once it helped me learn I used to be fast. Cooked the rear brake chasing NoRice and Glitch over in North Carolina... I'm fine with an old BMW now.

That green one came from a lady Marine in Kentucky, I believe. She had two Triumphs and a Harley, her husband didn't ride!
It's called Aston Green which is a chameleon color: metallic green to blue to purple, it's subtle and pretty wild at the same time. Ford used it on a Mustang around the same time.
I think the one I'm getting is black, it's been a while since I've seen the pictures.
This will be Triumph number 7: 6 Sprints and one Tiger.
I like them all and yes, the motor is really quite something. After riding a Tiger for months the Sprint makes the adrenaline flow.
I like just about everything that has 2 wheels and a motor. Getting a Buell Blast to hit 90 MPH lying down on the tank, why not!

Motus?
I got to drool over one last year at a bike meet, it really looked to be worth buying.
Shame they went under.

I kind of wonder about bike meets this year. Do we still have them and if so, do we keep our helmets and gloves on?

Breaks my heart about Motus. They tried, valiantly, built some incredible products.

Wonder if George Barber would allow certain "play dates" with some of his beauties? Surely it could be figured out.

Yeah... unfortunately at $35k those bikes were way out of most people's price range for what is essentially a toy.

I would have loved to own one, but I just don't ever see it happening unless I hit the lottery.

Used Motus examples are nearing half retail now, two more "half lives" and they'll be in range.

Yeah... get it down under $10k and we might be able to talk about it.

The most I've ever paid for a brand new motorcycle was $16,800 and I have kicked myself every day for the last 17 years over it.

I’ve owned a few newer generation (Hinckley era) Triumphs over the years and NEVER experienced a problem with any of them! All I’ve had to do was standard MX, oil, chain lube, etc. still have 2 of them.

GREAT bikes
GREAT brand

Of course that’s only my personal experience and my opinion from that experience.
