4 months home detention for a felon with a stolen pistol? I'll have to check to see if there's another qualifier in that sentencing choice. Because if that's available to all, then moving to Seattle to "cheaply" carry illegal to me weapons is far more attractive than the restrictions in New York, where I'd do years of hard time. Unfortunately I'll bet I would need to be a violent convicted felon, and/or not-white, and while I can reluctantly swing the first, for the second, I'd have to emulate the Governor of Virginia, or Premier of Canada. The whole point that Levin makes...needs to be heard. More often. Loudly. Because that is the POINT OF OUR NATION. We are NOT a "democracy", and they did it on purpose. Mob rule is bad. Simple majority rule is bad. The Founders were all about checks and balances - and our current butt-hurt Democrat party is the exact reason why. "We DESERVE to be in power, and we'll do everything we can think of to keep it, even it that means shredding the very document that created our nation". That, my friends, is tyranny. | ||

It can throw money at a campaign, but the voters sometimes choose the wrong guy. Like Trump. Weirdly, this proves they are reasonably honest with elections. They are incompetent to bend the system to their will. Primaries matter, and the establishment loses. They count votes and grumble. The DNC is, just like 4 years ago, bending and cheating as much as they think they can get away with. Which, unfortunately for them, is less than before, because the Bernie bros KNOW they cheated last time. So The Party re-wrote the rules a little to look better. Oh, the SuperDelegate staff is all ready, again, to "vote" the Chosen One the Nomination. Just like in 2016. But they won't get to vote first pass this year. So it will look obvious the cheat. Unless they change the rules back which would probably get the convention center burned down.  Ironically, the cheating is probably all legal. There's undoubtedly some by law in their charter that the Party bosses choose the candidate if there isn't unanimous consent. If someone is bored, look it up. Bet you! (it's how Parties can just run incumbents, with only minimal face saving public protest. They let the bitchy losers & radical districts spout off between long praise fests for The Incumbent, when everybody is asleep. ) But it's IMPORTANT for The Party to keep the illusion that voting in the Primaries means anything but theater.
