I discovered that my grill's propane tank was empty and it looks like squirrels gnawed on the connector knob.

fat

Why would they do that? What is the countermeasure, wrap the new knob in aluminum foil?

Don't adjust the knob with food residue on your hands?

When in doubt...voltage.

Squirrels will chew through aluminum too if they choose to. PVC pipe, rubber on extension cords, vinyl siding, etc. If their teeth will cut it, they will chew it.

Countermeasure?

Small caliber rifle, pop a few, field dress, marinade, fire up the grill and rotisserie!

Or, my buddy swears by his squirrel gravy recipe. I'll get it if you wanna. ; )

They like the salt that your sweaty hands leave behind. People in rural areas have the same problem with wooden gardening implements and rodents...

Get a dog that can let itself out. Works at my house.

Doggie doors and a fenced in yard, oh yeah. The magic word around here is "squirrel", whispered loudly. ; )

Problem around here is the squirrels get up at the crack of dawn, we're sleeping in til I get up. Oh well.

You folks who want to cook & eat the squirrels know that squirrels are just tree dwelling rats with fluffy tails; right?
