I watch a show on youtube called Acoustic Tuesday.Today, the host ran through a list of players that are known primarily as electric guitar players and were rarely caught on video playing acoustic.I've seen a clip of Stevie Ray Vaughan on acoustic playing,I think it was Pride And Joy but Tony featured a video I'd never seen of Stevie playing a '29 Gibson L1 in France that is pretty amazing.
And there is this one from his Unplugged episode.
We can't forget Hendrix.
This Johnny Winter is on acoustic resonator.
I haven't dusted off the old solid body electric and fired up the Delta Blues in quite some time as I play acoustic at home,in jams locally and at a friend's coffee shop in another town.I guess you could say I live and breath acoustic guitar. If I had a dump truck full of money I'd have a warehouse full of bikes, cars, trucks and guitars.
Greg,it isn't a question of difficulty or making excuses.I have the Delta Blues and a Fender Acoustasonic 150 set up and ready to use in the same room as my guitars. The reality is that I don't have much interest in playing the solidbody anymore.I played electric for over 30 years in bands and that has lost it's appeal.
For those of you that play acoustic and haven't heard of the show I mentioned, you can sign up for an email that gets sent out every Tuesday and the show will be mailed to you.Or bookmark the site and peruse it at your leisure. https://acousticlife.tv/
