Has Trump been impeached? It's normally compared to an indictment. They can type up an indictment, but you're not indicted until it's filed with the judicial system. Just letting sit in a desk draw, isn't an indictment. I understand that some Constitutional scholars are saying this is true of an impeachment too. Certainly makes sense to me.

I've also heard that Pelosi can sit on this indefinitely. I've also heard that it expires when the new House is sworn in. The latter would make sense, just because nothing else carries forward, and the new House is made up of different members. It might even flip to a Republican House, with a new speaker. Go ahead Nancy. Sit on it!

“My Response to Christianity Today’s Call for President Donald Trump’s removal from office:

Christianity Today released an editorial stating that President Trump should be removed from office—and they invoked my father’s name (I suppose to try to bring legitimacy to their statements), so I feel it is important for me to respond. Yes, my father Billy Graham founded Christianity Today; but no, he would not agree with their opinion piece. In fact, he would be very disappointed. I have not previously shared who my father voted for in the past election, but because of this article, I feel it is necessary to share it now. My father knew Donald Trump, he believed in Donald Trump, and he voted for Donald Trump. He believed that Donald J. Trump was the man for this hour in history for our nation.

For Christianity Today to side with the Democrat Party in a totally partisan attack on the President of the United States is unfathomable. Christianity Today failed to acknowledge that not one single Republican voted with the Democrats to impeach the President. I know a number of Republicans in Congress, and many of them are strong Christians. If the President were guilty of what the Democrats claimed, these Republicans would have joined with the Democrats to impeach him. But the Democrats were not even unanimous—two voted against impeachment and one voted present. This impeachment was politically motivated, 100% partisan. Why would Christianity Today choose to take the side of the Democrat left whose only goal is to discredit and smear the name of a sitting president? They want readers to believe the Democrat leadership rather than believe the President of the United States.

Look at all the President has accomplished in a very short time. The economy of our nation is the strongest it has been in 50 years, ISIS & the caliphate have been defeated, and the President has renegotiated trade deals to benefit all Americans. The list of accomplishments is long, but for me as a Christian, the fact that he is the most pro-life president in modern history is extremely important—and Christianity Today wants us to ignore that, to say it doesn’t count? The President has been a staunch defender of religious freedom at home and around the world—and Christianity Today wants us to ignore that? Also the President has appointed conservative judges in record number—and Christianity today wants us to ignore that? Christianity Today feels he should be removed from office because of false accusations that the President emphatically denies.

Christianity Today said it’s time to call a spade a spade. The spade is this—Christianity Today has been used by the left for their political agenda. It’s obvious that Christianity Today has moved to the left and is representing the elitist liberal wing of evangelicalism.

Is President Trump guilty of sin? Of course he is, as were all past presidents and as each one of us are, including myself. Therefore, let’s pray for the President as he continues to lead the affairs of our nation.”

-- Reverend Franklin Graham

Are you saying the military is being paid too much?

I say pay them more.

No coffee for me, thanks.

The article seems to indicate that military pay is too high, and they're analyzing it.

Comparing military pay to civilian pay is stupid.

We as civilians don't go into harm's way under direct orders. We choose where we work, and if we don't like what we're being told to do, we leave and find something else.

Soldiers are ordered to walk in front of bullets.

I got the same impression Matt did - the article IS slanted towards "investigating the rate of pay for military", and I'm afraid your first post did come across as agreeing with that theory.

“I'm afraid your first post did come across as agreeing with that theory.”

Then I apologize. That was certainly not my intent. I was on active duty for 12 years back in the 80s and 90s. I know what poor feels like. I am ecstatic that pay has increased to the point that some folks are claiming our boys (and girls) make too much money. It’s about got damn time. : )

Personally, I care nothing about the opinions of a big religious organization about Trump. Unless they have a track record of honest reporting on the excesses and crimes of previous regimes, I can only assume political partisan lies from scum masquerading as righteous Christians.

To be fair, any church has a steep hill to climb to get any credibility today. The Last Pope is a Liberation Theology agitator. The fastest growing religion is at war with civilization. The secular left is more intolerant, and increasingly more Jew hating, than the Medieval Inquisition.

I've more than a lifetime of experience with political preachers. Few have been not evil.

If you have respect for a tv evangelist, that's your business. I'll be nice and not openly mock you. But I don't give a grain of sand's worth of respect to their politics, & don't care who they support.

Thank you for your lengthy service, Jeff.

I too am happy that they're getting paid more, but to me it's still not enough.

Comparing military pay to civilian pay should not be a thing, unless it's to show that we need to pay them more. Oh, and take better care of them when they come home. Even the ones that never go overseas. We have people killing other people from a trailer in Nevada, and that shit takes a heavy toll.

This is just one more of many indications that China’s brutal Communist regime is getting worse, not better. Several American administrations indulged the naive assumption that trade relations with the West would inevitably lead to liberalization, and that there was no down side to cooperating in the growth of Chinese power, even when (as, for example, the case of intellectual property infringement) it was plainly adverse to American interests.

As with a number of other issues, President Trump is to be commended for putting aside the happy talk indulged in not just by former administrations, but by commentators like Tom Friedman, and taking a realistic view of the Communist Chinese regime. I think it is fair to say that one of the Democrats’ reasons for wanting to be rid of President Trump is their desire to get back to business as usual with China.

Since I have zero experience or interest in reading Christianity Today, I'll post this without comment.

Except to say, again, that a magazine claiming credibility in attacking sinners, and Trump certainly is one, as are all imperfect men, that to be considered actually credible, has to have a long history of truthfully attacking sinners.

If they publicly complained about Bill's infidelity and Hillary's sexual preferences, have covered the evident connections with child rapists and pimps, then perhaps they have some thing to say that's not pimping for infanticide and pedophile rich. Even better if they questioned why Obama's golf outings never had a woman guest, and spent extra time on the course where there are resting cabins protected from public gaze by an army of Secret Service.

In the absence of such, they have the negative credibility of a Chris Cuomo, lo, like his Father before him, has become a reliable source. You know he lies.

And he's pumping this magazine's editorial, ipso facto. They lie.

https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/fiscal-doomsday- machine-powers-david-stockman-rages-impeach-congre ss-too

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The last legal budget was signed by George W. Bush.

Ever since, we've been operating on emergency temporary spending bills so Congress doesn't need to admit what they vote for. And spend more money they don't have, increasing the deficit to record levels, again, and again, for over a decade, now.

Congress just impeached the President in the House, as promised within an hour of his oath of office. And both the House And Senate, handed Trump Another Record debt emergency bill, which he signed to prevent a government shut down Christmas week.

This btw, breaks his promise to veto the next illegal spending bill, their promise to create a legal budget that the public can see before it's forced upon them, and required Another vote no one in the Media reported to over ride the debt ceiling.

So for 2020, we'll have an impeachment trial in the Senate, or not, at the whim of Nancy Pelosi. And a possible government shut down, at the whim of Donald Trump.

And a major election, which has it's crisis the first & second amendment being cancelled as well be private property as a legal fact, as State and Federal government chooses to take your property without fair pay or any legal recourse. Guns first, obviously, but then cars, homes, land, computers, and anything else they decide to steal from you.

And the financial system appears to be supported by selling debt to us, without us knowing it, or paying for it, yet.

This ignores the foreign and domestic religious wars including Iran, China, and Belgium.

Holiday shopping set records over the weekend, with Super Saturday sales reaching $34.4 billion, the biggest single day in U.S. retail history, according to Customer Growth Partners.

NASDAQ is up over 70% since P45's election, and the DOW is up over 55%. I've lost count of how many record highs the stock market has set since President Trump's election.

Despite this, the feckless Democunts in Washington want to remove him from office?
