Everything Christmas; First complaint, We have a family gift exchange on Christmas. I don't like it. $20.00 limit means everyone gets and gives alike. There are male exchange gifts and female exchange gifts. there are 2 piles and there is a drawing to see who walks to the pile first and picks out a gift. It will be mainly $20 gift cards. BORING! I told Tracey I want to go buy a gift. You would have thought I was the anti christ. I said what guy wouldn't want a gift box with $20 of snack foods in it? Where am I getting the gift card from? When I draw a number that allows me to pick my own gift card, I consider that a win. I got a manicure kit one year. | ||

It was an opinionated gay man that abused his mate/my cousin. I get along with almost everyone and stayed mellow for the family. But if I see girlfriend again, I will scratch his eyes out. Once they moved out of State he stabbed my cousin. | ||

We've had a good year with the garden, which allowed for a fairly nice inventory of canned goods. Many of these will become Christmas gifts. Canned salsa, grape and cherry jams, pasta sauce, pickled peppers and green tomatoes, chili starter, etc. If I had to quantify the time/labor/expense needed to produce these, I think they'd clock in each under an Andy J. Well, no. Itdonmatter. The joy and love they bring has a value I can't tell, but it's up there. The dollar limit on gifts is OK, but gift cards should be disallowed. The point of the dollar limit is creativity. We're going to have a "Secret Santa" thing at work, I'm aiming to bring the gift everyone trades for.  | ||

Hang in there, RD. As much as I appreciate/love? Christmas, Halloween is still my favorite. And I also appreciate Dia Des Los Muertos following. The girl at work who's been commissioned to head up the "Secret Santa" is asking for three things I'd like. I was stumped after I said "motorcycles, loose women". Apparently I didn't understand the rules for "Secret Santa", I was told I was doing something called "White Elephant". WTF, over? I'm just looking for opportunities to wear my new Christmas sweater. I found the part of Christmas that I like. A part of the giving. A lady went way over budget to get her daughter a pair of boots she really wanted but could not afford after getting others Christmas presents. I was going to chip in when I was talking to others in the family and found some of them had not found a gift for the daughter yet. I know the mother over extended on credit to make the purchase and arranged for some to go in together on the gift without letting it out of the bag. | ||

+1000. Marcia works part-time in a discount retail shop. Yesterday she had a lady who was buying Christmas stuff, her credit card was denied 4 times with just over $100 in purchases. A man behind her saw this, and whipped out a Bennie to cover it for her. Also- Marcia's brother works for a dirt/compost/landscaping supplier. He regularly gets a ham for Christmas... this year his boss also gave him a $2500 bonus. He works his buttocks off, so glad to know his bossman values that. |
