It looks like KTM copied Buell S1 design

The duck has a valve train inspired by Rube Goldberg's designs and the Katoom's stylist was enraptured with a bucket of used razor blades.

Neither captures the essence of an S1

The S1 is as raw a motorcycle that's ever been made. The KTM is sharp, focused, and refined in comparison in execution, build, and aesthetics.

I guess the header has some similarity, but I think that's about where it ends.

The KTM is sharp...as in sharp and pointy, no? The Buell looks like a 1980's standard and dirt tracker made babies.

I don't like the sharp edges just for sharp edges look. Just me? May be.

Maybe it's because I have a beard that I dislike motorcycles that look like used razor blades. By my aesthetics, the KTM looks like a barber's nightmare.

I'm with RD. The KTM design is like origami and manga masticated.

MV Agusta designs still follow classic lines. They're not great, but still good. Ducati tries and does a good job on several bikes. Triumph's more classic twins are good, leave alone several others. The Indian Scout looks good in person.

BMW's RnineT kinda nails it. There are a few new bikes that are actually pretty/sexy.

#Aesthetics matter.

Now I will accept the blade look on the Kawasaki Ninja H2R. At 249 mph, I think there should be wings. Would I open one up given the chance? My life insurance is paid.

It was a SuperDuke that made me trade in my Tenere for the Super Adventure SAR. Love that motor!
But I still ride the tubers often, and think this is much better looking than that Super Puke. ; )

ourdee, the h2r already has wings, look closely....specifically to keep it from flying away.

Have you seen the the new ZH2? Its kinda like a striped down version of the other h2s, cheaper suspension, regular swingarm, but the same engine. About half the price of the regular h2 and nearly 25% of the price of the R. Be interested to see what tuners can get out of it.

Seriously thinking hard about one, though there are probably better options.
