The author is incorrect in his assertion that there are no plant based sources of omega 3 fats. The three forms, ALA, DHA, and FDA are all available from plants, and in concentrations sufficient for human health. | ||

Because it's then summer in the South and sunlight reaches the upper atmosphere and creates ozone there. And it's only "pretty much" and not totally vanished yearly because of the active volcano that pumps hundreds of thousands of tons of acid producing, ozone destroying, gas into the polar vortex over Antarctica. As to human factors, Freon was banned when the patent was running out and it was going to be produced cheaper in Mexico, robbing the manufacturer of profits. After the ban that manufacturer made another fortune selling the mandated Freon substitute. And during & after the ban was being debated and passed, actual research into UV hitting the ground was refused funding, to avoid any actual science ruining the political movement sponsored by the manufacturer of Freon. Now, it's certainly possible that Freon, sprayed into the upper atmosphere, might break down into fluorine, hydrogen, and chlorine gas. The same high energy UV in sunlight that creates ozone ( that then blocks the UV from reaching the surface ) during the day, can break down freon. The breakdown products instantly recombine into hydroflouric and hydrochloric acid. ( the same acids produced by several volcanoes, including Mt. Erebus ) And hydrochloric acid can combine with ozone, breaking it down, releasing the chlorine, which combines with ozone, breaking it down, releasing the chlorine, which... So there is absolutely a theoretical and practical reason not to spray Freon into the upper atmosphere! Unfortunately, the ban on UV research means that there is no evidence that the ban on Freon had any effect on the upper atmosphere. So we'll just have to trust the chemical company that makes the substitute, now that they paid politicians to vote to ban the chemical they used to make. And the politicians that took campaign money from the chemical company. And we trust those people completely. Right? | ||

The Evil Electric Company asked for a rate increase to do line tree trimming and bury lines in high risk areas. The California legislature and Governor said, no. Should they run their business better? Sure. And there is a huge mandatory cash drain for wind & solar costs. The reason recent fires are the worst ever ( in money terms ) isn't climate related by any actual measurements. But it is directly related to new housing in areas that burn regularly. And to a certain degree the environmental activist rules on brush clearing and the economic demand to put out fires that would have been allowed to burn before rich people put their new homes there. That's not the only reasons. The area has had fires every year for at least as long as people were there. So... Greedy power company to blame? A bit. Insane government to blame? Yes for multiple reasons. Building on former cheap land to blame? Some. Any way to prevent this by killing all the humans in California? Not even that would stop the annual fires. CO2 overlaps water vapor, which is at least an order of magnitude more prevalent in the atmosphere. CO2 absorbs and radiates energy logarithmically with increasing concentrations. More doesn’t do squat at this point. Methane also overlaps water vapor and can’t exist in an oxygen atmosphere long enough to matter. It's a scam. Period. | ||

Just the fact that their decades of predictions - DIRE predictions - have all proven false, and none of them have happened...not even a little bit...is what tells me it's all a scam. That doesn't mean I litter, or toss crap all over the roadway, or burn tires in my backyard...I still take care of my environs. But. I'm not going to re-engineer my life for the benefit of these morons. | ||

Slick. Even slicker would be simply coating the pillar with an LED panel, that would work as a "screen". No projector required, the image would simply "be". A pillar-shaped TV screen. | ||

That's actually her plan, but custom LED panels are expensive, and the camera & projector were in the budget of a smart kid with willing parents. Which I find VERY smart. Made it work even with second choice work arounds. Can you afford a custom curved display panel? Would you cough up that much for your kid's science fair project? I can't. And I'd like to but see answer #1. | ||
