It's got a trellis frame and the engine is a stressed member. It has radial mount Brembo calipers. There are a lot of people ready to shit all over it, even though they haven't even seen one, let alone sat on one or even taken one out for a ride. Talk about contempt prior to investigation... You all sound like democrats discussing President Trump. |

I rather like it. I'll have to see it in person. |

Harley shit all over me, and they never even saw me. They had perfectly good sport bikes already. Then they dangle this out there... No matter how good it is, I'd never buy it. I wouldn't knock somebody else for getting one. I call it like I see it. And I see this as being late to the party. It might be fun to ride, and really cool and all that. All I'm saying is they'll never get my money ever again. |

Oh, they aren't getting mine either. I doubt I'll ever buy another bike. Mine is too good. And another brand new one that is expensive? Doubtful. But that doesn't mean I can't like something. |

I actually like the looks. I like it a whole lot better than those manga inspired bikes coming out of Japan lately. I just wonder how much heat the rider is going to feel on his/her right thigh riding that thing in traffic... |

I like it so far. I'm sure the price will change my mind. |

Jaimec: I'm sure it will be no worse than Buell, or a Triumph Scrambler. Buells cook below the knee, the Triumph above. When it becomes a problem, I just put the right foot on the ground at stops. Also, being liquid cooled it might not be problem at all.. |

So almost as good as my 20 year old X1? I hate H-D so much. more and more each time I see this stuff. I thought I would get over 2009 by now but they just keep poking the wound with a pointy stick. I'm on the "H-D not getting my money" train too. |

Pwnzor, I'm with you.I don't understand HD's decisions sometimes. I think HD wants all their bikes under the HD brand. Maybe that contributed to the cancellation of Buell? Plus....it's a stupid name "Bronx"? Maybe it's just because I'm from Boston. No disrespect to my fellow New York riders. |

I don't hate HD. There are some individuals who deserve some ire, true. But there's a whole company full of hard working 'Muricans! that I have nothing against and wish continued employment & joy in life & family. I rant on a different, extinct, company that was looted into oblivion that was once the biggest local employer, directly and even more so in contracts to smaller job shops.....over on the new Adventure bike thread. Didn't hate the employees there, either, even after I got laid off with thousands of others. Now, Google? Facebook? Those are companies with apparently majority A-holes, or at least a corporate culture that punishes non A-hole thinking, as they censor thought based on political bias ( bad thing no matter the bias ) and joyfully collaborate with the most murderous terrorist dictatorship in history to impose Social Credit Controls on billions of people. Otoh, Harley is just a bunch of great folk that got screwed, and our favorite folk got screwed worst, by individual A-holes. Know the difference. Aim your anger at evil men not groups undeserving such stupid hate. There are wolves to be hated. Don't get me wrong. Harley isn't getting ten$ of thousand$ from me, not because I hate them, but because I'm poor. |

You people are blaming a company for the actions of an individual. Keith "Jackass" Wandell killed Buell. He was the CEO at the time. He never rode a motorcycle. He was purely a bean counter. His was the kind of mind set that would pick Elton John as the epitome of musician that people identified with the MoFoCos motorcycles. He had his head up his ass. Wandell didn't give a rats ass about the future of H-D. He wanted maximum money immediately and he retired with a huge Golden Parachute after ravaging H-D and killing off Buell. The current CEO, Matt Levatich was, I believe, the head of Buell sales in Europe. (I'm not positive on this, but it fits the way he's trying to bring the company around) He's trying to make more than just cruisers for ageing Boomers. I'm pretty sure that Erik would never go back, and ten years have passed since Jackass killed Buell off. Yes, Erik and all of us got royally screwed, but it wasn't a corporation that did it; it was a true horse's ass. They can;t go back, so they're doing what they can. I have no problem with owning a Harley, and I plan to buy another within the next year or so. |

It is still painful after 10 years. We had a great company in Buell and great employees. I was there at the end and it was the best job I ever had. To see HD now come out with a bike that cannot compare with a 10 year old 1125CR is sad. |

>>"You people are blaming a company for the actions of an individual." I've mostly got a hate-on for H-D due to it behaving just like any other big multinational corporation. Close down plants, lay off people = more profits! It's not just Buell, look at what happened to Capitol Drive plant. I took the tour and they layed on the heritage thick with a trowel and I gobbled it right up at the time. I payed money as well as being a dutiful fanboy of Harley branded crap since the early '90s. I feel like I was lied to by someone I thought was a friend. I'm done paying. H-D is not my friend. It's an abusive selfish Ex-girlfriend. She can crash her drunk ass on someone else's couch. |

The CEO reports to a board of directors. They all agreed to kill Buell. |

Buell was a pearl necklace thrown to swine. I'd love to discuss the whole debacle with my old marketing professor someday. Why in Hades couldn't HD brass see the potential in Buell to function as an aspirational, sporting brand, an appreciated and valued member of the family instead of a redheaded stepchild is beyond me. HD could've used Buell to build entire new products, starting from pee-wee bikes like every other brand out there, even dirt bikes. Then, once a kid becomes an adult, transition over to a genuine HD. Or, remain a Buell loyalist like all of us. HUGE missed opportunity. |

I like the look, and the numbers sound good too, but I can't help but think that's exactly what my M2 would have evolved into. (which I would be riding if I could fix the stumbling problem and get the rear brake to bleed) DOH!! |

The shutdown had many many causes. A storm came from all directions not just one guy, or a couple of angry liars, or a Union, or an economy down turn, or a main core business, or a resistance to change, or an inability to make solid business decisions over a long period of time, or someone ignoring the advice of a hired lawyer, or prejudiced marketers, or lets face it I can go on and on. It is what it is. If you are not really a motorcycle enthusiast, well so be it. I am going to look at it and ride it if I get a chance. Doesn't mean I'll like it or hate it. I'll base that on the finished product in my hands. I wave at anyone that waves. |

Again, I never said I didn't like the bike. I said it was late to the party. The shutdown didn't affect me. At all. What did affect me is how I was personally treated while I was a Buell owner. If I hadn't run into a random guy outside the Costco one day who told me about BadWeB, I'd have sold the XBR after less than 1 year of ownership. Instead, I got on BadWeB and was quickly steered in the direction of Al Lighton of American Sport Bike. At that point, I decided to keep it right up until the third stator burned out. Then it was lights out, literally - and the Z1000 replaced it. I'll goggle at one of these when I see it in the wild and even say things like "cool bike" or "nice ride". The other Cylon-looking thing can take a long trip off a short pier. |

I haven't been treated nice by any Dealership as a Buell owner. If I ever own an HD, it will probably be used. I enjoyed the treatment I received at the hands of Buell elves. I enjoy the people that Buells have brought together. This late bike? welllll... It is not as ugly as the 1250 thing. |
