It didn't cost like the bamboo. So, I wasn't paying much attention to it's price. After installing the bamboo I didn't like working with the vinyl. I chose the vinyl for the wet room. I am a big fan of habitat restore type places.

I got lucky with marketplace yesterday. A guy 25 miles away had free granite. I picked up over a ton of black granite with aqua hints in it.

Over 105 square feet in the small patio along the front of my house beside the porch will be covered. I have to cut and level it. I placed it there rough for now.

I plan on pouring a concrete curb/border under the pence pieces.

Score! I like the idea, but won't that be dang slick when wet?

+1000, Habitat/AMVETS/Goodwill/KARM (Knox Area Rescue Ministries). It's always like a treasure hunt when I go, any $$$ spent goes to a great cause, bargains galore. Just picked up a "new" sofa for $30, plus a hand meat grinder for $17. Got my 55 gallon aquarium, with stand/hoods/chemicals at Habitat even. I've seen nice roofing shingles and all kinds of stuff at ours.

Yes, very slick. It is blocked off by the fence and the chairs and table. Not for traffic. I will place potted plants, a fountain, and statues in that area.

If that's a Moen, it looks like we have the same kitchen faucet. I like ours, the spray function almost works too well!

Of all the kitchen gadgets we have, still don't have one of those nice mixers, or a slow cooker. M won't allow a slow cooker, says it's unnecessary, I disagree. That mixer can do about anything with the attachments. Meat grinder would be purchase #1.

Oh, and nice job! Do you get paid OT in retirement?

It's all OT. Long term, I plan on putting in a touch faucet with the spring over the top.

You can get a coating for the outside granite, I want to say it's called "gator skin" or some such. My mother has it on her stamped-concrete driveway in FL, specifically to keep it from becoming an ice-skating rink if it gets wet.

That venetian plaster wall begs for a wall-mount faucet.

Very nice work.

I thought there was a solution, Joe's right. With the proper treatment, one could perambulate safely in most weather.

People have been giving away granite. I have a way to cut it. I need to keep collecting it till I don't have to cut grass. So, after I cut a piece today for the bathroom vanity, I looked at a $50.oo ad on CL. I went and bought it after lunch. I got a hanger, suspenders, top, bottom, and liners. All in my size, large. Here are the pics:

I don't mind stopping and helping people on the road. I have some extra relective tape on my car for safety. It is all hid when the doors are closed. Ordered some blue tape, and red leds to put on the lift gate edges.

I have been aggravated with my shed since moving into this house. When I moved in, all the junk was piled in the shed. That made it unusable. Today I dug out the shelf brackets and hung them. Next I'll get the pile off the floor and open up parking for the mowers. The radial arm saw is supposed to be mounted on the end of my lathe table in the garage.

Sifo: your absolutely right that they are obsolete in today's garage, but if called to service, they would still perform their function. (It's like being a stoker on a diesel locomotive)

Ever get lucky? Sometimes. We just worked out a deal on this...

Nice house and a 40 x 40 heated and insulated outbuilding. Lots of hardwoods surrounding the place.
