As you could guess I am in Fancy Gap heading south and just noticed that I flat spotted (to the threads) my rear tire at some point between Front Royal and here. It was getting close to time to replace anyways but now I NEED to replace hopefully tomorrow. Anyone have a shop that they’ve used around here? I know it’s a long shot.

I did find a Yamaha dealer that looks promising, I will have to start making calls in the morning.

Thanks

Nick, I just sent you a PM with my cell number - TEXT IS BEST.

The nearest m/c dealership is:

Mount Airy Yamaha/Suzuki/Polaris
1995 Rockford St (aka Hwy 601)
Mount Airy, NC 27030
336-786-5343
https://www.mtairyyamahasuzuki.com/

Take Hwy 52 south from Fancy Gap, cross into North Carolina, continue on Andy Griffith Parkway/52 to intersection of 52 and 601 (aka Rockford St. - look for Lowes on right just before intersection), take right on 601 and they're a couple blocks up the hill on the left.

This link has an interactive map:

https://www.mtairyyamahasuzuki.com/locations

They open at 9 tomorrow morning.

It's probably a 20-25 minute ride from Fancy Gap.

Let me know if I can help.

Best,
Ferris

If for whatever reason you can't source a tire tomorrow, I have a 180/55/17 Pirelli Angel sitting on my shelf. I'll be cutting through the area on Thursday on my way to Buelltoberfest.

Ferris thank you for the information, do you think they’ll properly torque the rear wheel or should I ask to do it myself? I am hoping they have something that fits!

Froggy, hopefully I don’t have to take you up on that! Where and when is burlltoberfest?

I was supposed to be in Key Largo today but work/weather screwed that up.

Thank you both! I’ll post after I get to talk to them.

Buelltoberfest is this weekend in Suches, GA. I'll be departing New York on Wednesday night, and will be in Virginia for much of Thursday, arriving in Suches sometime in the afternoon. Ride around a lot on Friday and Sat, then pack it up and go home Sunday.

Nick,
This week end at Twos in Suches, Ga. is going to a phenomenal event. A group of true blue motorcycle enthusiasts. Most staying at Two Wheels Of Suches. Enjoying ribs at Jim's Smokin' Que. The best BBQ I have had in a long life of tasting. Two's has a covered porch that gathers legends in comfortable chairs. Our group play a game called fire-pit jenga into the night. There are no rowdy brawlers, just good natured outstanding peeps. The wit will run from light to deep. And if you lean in the direction, a bottle sometimes gets passed around the fire. If not, there will be enough of us non-beleivers to hold one of those anonymous meetin's. Bikin' enthusiasts of all faiths are welcome to partake in family friendly fun.

Thank Alex for his responsiveness to my FB PM. Since Yahoo deactivated my Email account, I had no way of getting a hold of you...

I hope Nick is getting things straightened out!

Thanks to all of you who got me the information I needed. My Airy had some Michelin 2CT’s in stock in the correct size. And the mechanic let me R&R my wheels and lent me a torque wrench (amazing customer service!)

So, the New Tires are on! I am at Cook Out getting some food and then I am heading back to the Parkway! I was supposed to be in south Florida today, but here I am.

I would love to have been able to join you all there! I have a friend who rarely visits and he is only going to be in Key Largo for a few days so I need to get home.

I left East Hampton 2 days late and lost half a day today, I was hoping to be south of the big rain storm that’s going on in the south tonight. I wanted to be in Jacksonville tonight. But that can’t happen if I ride the BRP. Ugh

We gather in Suches twice a year... in March/April and again in October.

Do join us in the future. Shenanigans abound.
