That beats the hell out of my parents' lazy susan in the corner. A favorite failure mode was spinning it too fast and having something drop off the edge. Then it jams the &$#@$ thing and you can't open it wide enough to get it unjammed. Someone with small hands was needed to fix it. First me then my little sister  | ||

Busy Monday. Up early & off to the local mechanic who diagnosed my Caravan's noise as a front wheel bearing. Expected, that was my guess. The $300 keystoned ( double retail ) part price surprised me, the last front wheel bearing I needed to service was $25 on my Dodge van during the Carter administration. My bus mechanic/A4 Skyhawk Marine Avionics buddy showed up and laughed at that price. Found one in stock at Pep Boys for $145 ( moog ) and I'm running down to his place in the morning to install it, with 6 bushels of golden delicious apples which he plans to turn to Apple jack. Freeze distilled. Best barter this year, & I get a jug, too. He showed up on his Yamaha XS1100 restoration project, and spurred me into digging out the ramp to my shed, so I could get the doors open enough to push out my Cyclone. Which had sat long enough after my knee surgery to need the carb stripped and cleaned, and a new battery. Fresh gas, and started first push of the button. Air in tires & off we went to get inspected. Then my first ride in far too long, down every twisty industrial park, through rush hour traffic, to find the first 3 motorcycle shops closed, out of business or too late. I'd forgotten how darn good the Cyclone is. I ache in forgotten parts too long unused. But I'm back on the road again! Asphalt, dirt, grass & gravel, and the smile muscles are sore. Good day. | ||

I play solitaire on my computer. And my Kindle. The free version I loaded for the Kindle shows advertising. I got bored the other night, and tried a free game "Lily's Garden". And entered heck! First, they advertise it as a "pick a tool to fix a problem" game. Maybe I'm not far enough in to get to that. So far it's a " pick a variation to complete a task" game, for example, a stone, glass, or concrete fountain. Ok, I can be patient, and get to the pick a tool part. But that's not even the game. What you have to play to do anything is a color/shape match minigame like Candy Crush. Want to fix the roof? Win 3 minigames. Bait & switch! False advertising! If I wanted to play candy crush I'd get candy crush. Do they make you fix up a house to play that?  Worse, this time crushing suck has a silly soap opera angle. Girl breaks up with cheating scum boyfriend, life sucks, then inherits old country mansion but must restore it in 30 days or lose it. Etc. Etc. And I'm freaking furious! Ex shows up, is jerk. Gets in trouble. New task. Rescue Blaine from rosebush! The name alone is enough to dislike him. But now I have to play another freaking "match 137 flowers" to do so! I really want the choice "rescue Blaine or murder him with hoe" & "pick which flower bed Blaine will nourish". I'd grind for days for that! I'm dumping this evil deceptive game! It's driving me to thoughts of murder and lawbreaking! Out! Demon's Spawn! Begone! As soon as I beat this level so I can play with the dog. | ||
