I thought a TOR worked better than/ regardless of/ a VPN. I also thought you had to be on a TOR to use the dark web. I downloaded a TOR but never found a reason to use it. Google Incognito plus my VPN gives me a moderate sense of security. Anyway, Bill Whittle, spot on it as usual. | ||

Bill is spot on, but he needs to take it a step further. There's the argument that Trump only talked to the president of Ukraine about this to help his campaign, and that Biden went after the crooked prosecutor because that prosecutor was crooked and he did it in the name of global justice and good. Maybe...just maybe...President Trump isn't doing this to help his campaign - maybe that's a byproduct. Maybe his TRUE goal is to keep a criminal out of the White House, for the sake of the American people. Maybe his TRUE goal is - still - to drain the swamp, and keeping swamp critters from being elected in the first place is the most effective way to drain it. I honestly believe our President isn't doing this for himself - he hasn't done ANY of this for himself, he could have sat at Mar-a-Lago and counted his money and ignored all of it. But he didn't. I won't say he "walked away" from all that...but he has certainly put it on hold, and has endured endless heartache and abuse since the day he walked down that escalator. And, he's done it for US. And I think THAT'S what scares the DC establishment the most - he ISN'T self-serving, he ISN'T doing this for greed or for personal advancement...and as such, he can't be bought, cajoled, or threatened into submission. He truly has the interests of this great Nation in his heart, and they simply don't comprehend that...hence the fear, and the ad hominem attacks - because they don't know how else to fight something they don't understand. | ||

Want to see heads explode? The might have the votes to impeach. I really doubt the Senate would vote to remove him, but imagine if they had enough (R) never-Trumpers to remove him. Then imagine him winning next year's election... I don't think there's anything to keep him from taking office again at that point. There were literally people screaming at the sky last time. It was my understanding that impeachment is just a political process to remove someone from office before their term is up. I would think, and certainly hope that such a political process could be reversed by the vote of the people in the next election. Of course I could be wrong on that point. I can't see this getting to the point of the Senate convicting, so the rest of the unlikely scenario would never play out that way. If it did manage to play out that way, I would bet on it going to the Supreme Court. | ||

Impeachment doesn't remove someone from office. IIRC It's an investigation and judgement process that is supposed to determine whether the person being impeached is guilty of a stated crime or not. You can be impeached and remain in office. Bill Clinton was impeached but remained in office. I'm sure someone knows more about this and can fill in more info than I can. I researched this a few years ago and don't remember all the details. | ||

You are correct. Impeachment is the political equivalent of criminal indictment. The other part of the process is trial, with the Senate as Jury. Only upon conviction is the removal from office to happen. | ||

I still don't think it can get through the Senate (GOP majority)...but I'm more concerned with how Pelosi was able to push through NEW RULES that contradict our Constitution, as far as impeachment proceedings go. That alone should be grounds to get her and her kind out of office - you don't go changing the rules as spelled out in the document that CREATED our nation. Pelosi announced an inquiry. ( inquisition ) Not an Impeachment hearing. There's a difference. It's a circus with zero legal meaning. An Impeachment hearing/proceeding requires a vote. There will be no vote. 2 reasons. The vote probably wouldn't pass. None of the Rs would vote yes, as it would imperil their reelection. Several of the Ds wouldn't vote yes, same reason. And if there was a vote, and it did pass, then Republicans would be part of the process, and he able to subpoena and question folk the Democrats desperately don't want heard. So the whole thing is theater. Could be effective theater. The Trump loyalists won't be fooled. The wait & see folk that understand what's going on won't be fooled. But the information incurious ill informed folk that don't care much and only watch the Evening news after dinner before their favorite reality show, could be. And that's a LOT of people. Most Americans aren't that into politics, it annoys them. Frankly, I'd be in that category, but as a History buff, the Evening news is so obviously biased it has scared me into looking for facts, instead of my old habit of just listening to the biased reporting from both sides, then splitting the difference, cursing both their houses, and ignoring the mess. Oh, I've been an unrepentant counter revolutionary since High School, but it took the Civil Rights abuses of the Clinton regime to get me interested in digging through the dung to find the foundation of the positions I was being lied to about.
