Figure alot of Buell owners have other bikes or friends with or whatever because I have exhausted my resources and some quite good stealership ones. This is the inside latch plate for a 1980-83 FLT.FLH parts do not work.It has an"ear" and a pin, 4 rivet holes.I know its a long shot, but maybe somebody know an owner with a crashed bag/lid..Exploded view can be pulled up at ronnies hd online, site has all models back to 79.Employees are friendly and knowledgeable, they have nation wide info for any hd related HTF/obsolete part Long shot here i know..lol

If you can't find it, I can have a replacement made in my bro's armor shop.

Bloodbath & Beyond. ; )

It's basic fabrication. A small bit of stainless, a few drilled holes, a few cuts, file work, hammer and vice.

Or you can check the local SCA.org chapter for a local armor shop. We mostly make our own locally, but with the internet folk order it from all over, and cheap foreign crap is coming in lately.

The skills and tools are the same for a latch plate as plate armor.

You could probably do it yourself with basic tools. Most SCA armor folk would be happy to teach you. We're a nonprofit educational organization, after all.

I warn you, they'll try & talk you into trying it out. : )

Oh, I also have to warn you, there are women that can steal your heart, kick your butt, and throw a dagger. I know.

Tootal = Greg, a cool cat and pretty fart smeller when it comes to engineering, redneck and all types. Nice thing about Buell peeps is they tend to know how to figger something out. Vern might help too, "Etennuly" is his handle.

Good luck, let us know how things work out.

Hawgford, I looked up the part at Ronnies for an 82 model year and it showed the part and looks like it's still available. Usually if it's not available the exploded view number won't show up. It's part 23 on the exploded view. Otherwise I don't have one. I have a spare saddlebag but it's off a 2002 FLTR. Sorry I couldn't help!

i've been using ronnies micro fiche for quick reference for years . Parts numbers and even prices will show up as the parts dept keeps contacts nationwide for obsolete parts and more. i was given 3 numbers of stealerships with old parts stashes and call after call netted me nothing but slack lazy children unwilling to go to secondary warehouses hanging up the phone on me..I use searchtempest constantly sure theres what i need on evilbay but still on 2 lids and 2 bags, offered at a huge gouging price. i persisted and got the outside piece, and even a source for the correct rivets..I'll find it.might be a swap meet at the grudge races this weekend .. thanks all ya'll for the help.its a first year iconic sled..
