Yet not all of that tax gaming is all bad.

Energy tax credits helped make my heat pump affordable for poor me. And I've repeatedly thanked you all for buying my rusted out Caravan.

In return I'm not unhappy my tax dollars went so you idle rich guys could buy a Tesla. ; ) Having real electric cars is, overall, a good thing. The market alone wouldn't have supported the advances we've seen the last 20 years. It needed a boost.

As time goes by, other items we pay for with our taxes are revealing themselves to be bad ideas. Current tech wind power is trending bad. Pollution, waste, dead birds & bats, and an increasing human death toll, plus the rare strategic materials used, indicate to me that program is unwise. But there's a lot of rich guys making money off us, and even if hundreds die this winter because of renewable energy policies, the policies won't change overnight.

I think the "tax subsidy" they speak of is different than "tax credit" to consumers. The subsidy is from the gov, to the manufacturer, to give them a break on their corporate taxes as they "blaze new ground" with "green technology". This allows the manufacturer - Tesla, in this case - to develop and sell a model 3 for only 40-70k...instead of a more realistic (without corporate credits) total cost of 150k or so. But since the government subsidizes such a heavy side of the corporate expense balance...they can sell the product at a "discount".

I'm not sure if I should be considered a Tesla fan or hater. I'm a bit of both. There is a side of me that wishes the company well, just because it would be great to see another US auto maker being viable. Especially one as innovative as Tesla. The time is coming, quickly IMO, that Tesla needs to start making it on their own. Government shouldn't just endlessly subsidize them for just making really cool toys for the well off.

I can't make this stuff up. And yes, they are serious.

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2019/09/berni e_sanders_kill_babies_save_the_planet.html

Deadly serious.

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2019/09/europ ean_central_bank_to_put_climate_change_at_its_core .html

There are two sides to the Global Warming Con.

One is that man causes Global Warming by burning stuff for fuel, releasing CO2.

That is not yet proven, and the computer models used to induce hysteria have been wrong in their predictions. But it's possible that burning stored solar energy, wood, coal, oil, laid down organically, is a contributing factor in Climate Change. However, since they lie to us daily by changing the data, I see no reason to accept the rest of their thesis. Mostly because...

Two, That governments, by ordering you to obey them, and killing you if they want to, can change the effects a variable star 8 light minutes away has on our planet.

There's something to that, too. If they murder enough people, we won't need as much farm land. The wretched survivors outside the enclaves of the rich elites, the front cars on our Snowpiercer of a planet, will consume less since all industries will serve our Masters.

Anecdote. Author S.M.Stirling wanted to create, the worst bad guys he could think of for his novel "Marching Through Georgia". Which started a short series.

Spoilers!

Critics.... Please skip to the End of the wiki article to "Critism", it's worth reading even If you are not interested in the novels, or wish to read them without spoilers.

Basically, the author wanted had guys that made Hitler look good in comparison. Really scary. The Greenies of today make these fictional monsters.... Look honest and rational.

There’s a star trek parody called The Orville that did an episode on a dystopian society that was a direct democracy in all matters, including guilt or innocence. You get enough downvotes and you are shunned from restaurants, etc. Pretty obviously a direct reference to social media and what’s going on in China with their social merit system.

I glance, a few times a week at 9gag.com, a meme website that is international, hosted in Hong Kong. A very common American bash from Europe is the Metric mafia stuff. We are stupid because we stubbornly cling to the English system of measurement, instead of the Enlightenment French system.

Hey, guilty as charged!

In fact, the U.S. Officially went metric in 1895.

But the people, who had just bought tools to work on our rapidly industrializing economy, didn't feel the need to buy all new wrenches to turn foreign bolts that didn't even exist in our country. And for over a century, we've been dragging our feet, despite repeated attempts to force metrification. Anyone old enough might remember the Carter regime program with metric speed signs.

The result is most of us have 2 different sets of wrenches & sockets to work on our international products, with much cursing.

So, just take it as a given that we are stubborn and silly.

But is Metric superior? No.

Yes, by coincidence and planning, some science equations are easier in metric. Anyone who does aerospace work in English has to use odd measurements like slugs that sound weird & take extra steps.

However, the same equations in metric use the same amount of calculation, overall, as in English, so they are just as time consuming. And some physics equations work more elegantly and simply in English than in French.

And the measures are equally arbitrary. The inch is from a dead King's thumb, or barleycorns, but the Meter is from an obsolete & incorrect rounding of the diameter of the Earth. Thus neither has a real basis in current physical reality. The more recent definition of a Meter as so many peaks in a particular frequency of light, is actually retconned. Exactly how Star Wars fans explain jumps to hyperspace, and the ever increasing number of magic crystals that power everything. ( the Star Wars universe is fairy tales, not hard SF, and it's creators, from George Lucas on, are not science geeks, they're movie geeks )

Temperature, the F scale is based on basically, Zero is the freezing point of an equal mixture of ice, water, & ammonium chloride. Items relatively easy to get in a lab, and repeatable, which is important. 100 degrees is human body temperature. ( that got revised, later ) 32 is freezing, 212 boiling, at standard temperature and pressure. Weird, until you realize there's a 180 degree difference, which is a handy ( pun intended ) in thermodynamics equations.

Practically, the F scale is finer grained than the C scale, so is actually easier to be more precise in describing human comfort room temperature.

All measurement systems are partly arbitrary and partly practical in that the fractions of a measurement is supposed to be easier to subdivide. 12-6-3. 360-180-90-45, 100-10-1.

If you like, you can mock the French system as designed for people that count on their fingers. And yes, folk have figured out entire systems based on other numbers, like 12 & 2. ( computers )

But the "best" ; ) is by far...The currency of the wizarding world is divided into Galleons, Sickles and Knuts. Galleons are large gold coins, Sickles are silver, and Knuts small and bronze. There are twenty-nine Knuts to a Sickle and seventeen Sickles to a Galleon. Which used prime numbers because they are magically significant. At least according to the author, who now says everyone in her books were horny perverts, which fanfic writers knew all along.

The current standard for an inch is based on the meter. As the length of a meter was revised, the length of an inch changed

Good channel. Not many videos, though.

The engineers and machinists here will enjoy it.

Cool vid. I've also seen that sort of video about the first precision metal lathe. I've also seen a detailed demonstration video about making flat grinding stones from three stones. Same concept as mentioned about rubbing three pieces of cast iron together. They used a methodology of turning the orientation with each change in the pairing. It's quite the science.

Pretty basic ice/salt ice cream maker cooling tech. I don't know why they used Ammonium Chloride, instead of sodium chloride, but I would guess consistency.

Freezing and boiling point of the most common stuff around isn't a bad idea to use as a system. The 0-100 part was a fad thing, that the French in an excess of Revolutionary zeal, tried to apply to everything. There's a whole philosophy of utopian conformity mixed up with the Metric System. It's a planned deliberate intelligent design System. English just happened.

Metric time, with everything in Hundreds and tens, didn't catch on, and had no advantage over the 24-60-60 Traditional. It's possible we would be working 2/5 of a day instead of 1/3 or some such regulatory madness, but I'll leave imaginary time systems to the writers.

https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2019/09/t ime_to_put_an_end_to_the_climate_cult.html

I disagree.

Challenging the Cult by appealing to facts and real science won't help against people that are pathological liars. Their Cult uses emotional button pushing, fear & hate. Logic didn't slow down Hitler or Mao, not in the slightest.

Focusing on lies and crimes might do some good, the visual proof that massive fraud has been committed can be used, along with the simple metaphor that they are lying about the past like a crooked salesman lies about stock prices. "Buy this stock that never goes down!" When it did, but they lied about that, is understandable and provable . In a court of law & public opinion.

And simultaneously the Holier Than Thou illusion must be punctured. The U.N. & Sandy's Green New Con writer both admit science has nothing to do with this Cult. It's all about stealing your money by changing the system so they have unstoppable power.

That's the lead to every article. Here is the truth from their lips, preferably with video contrasting the lies.

But by this time in the Process of Conquest, it may be too late for truth and logic to stop the Green New Gestapo from burning the churches and looting the businesses.

But, but, but...

As a student of the history of Arctic & Antarctic exploration, I can tell you that getting stuck in the ice will destroy your ship. Without modern air power to send long range helicopters to save you, ( at great expense, and quite some danger ) explorers traditionally starved and froze to death.

The tales of survival are epic. Walking for months, starving, across treacherous, shifting, ice, with cracks hidden by snow that plunge them into sub freezing water, nearly certain death. No food except the lucky encounters with Apex Predator White Death Bears that only modern repeating fire arms can turn from eating the expedition into tough meat to sustain them across a frozen Hell.

More common are the diaries of the dead, found in crushed wreckage still afloat, in frozen tents with the mummies huddled in silence...

There's a stupid arrogance with these useful idiots who pontificate on Nature's glory & have ignorant lack of respect for it.

This planet has been here for a long, LONG time before we came along, and it'll be here for a LONG time after we're gone. It'll shake us off like a case of fleas before we can destroy it with plastic..." (paraphrased...see video for the true show)

There is a carefully not reported number of idiots eaten by Polar bears. They are cute, pretty white fur, comical how They stand on their hind legs, and just the most adorable living teddy bears!

Apex. Predator.

Unless a Killer Whale feels the need for a vitamin E meal, nothing eats them. ( man eats everything, but needs tools to stop Apex Predators from eating him )

Every other land animal in their domain, is food. And most sea life.

But people keep wanting to hug them. That's ok! They want to hug you, too.
