If I was lucky, I'd trade it for a BMW.....

Salesman came to my front door. I opened the garage door and said I don't want any. He wanted to argue. I said there is no trespassing. He looks for sign. I told him I have just informed you. Now, leave. The prior one was two guys from a home security company. I told them they were already on camera and needed to leave. They all act like I should open the front door where the dog is going ballistic. I don't open the front door.

Odd timing (appropriate to the last post from RD), but here's a fun one. I was just looking at a news story where an abandoned house not far from mine, burned down a couple days ago. For grins, I clicked the google maps link and looked at which house it was (the street number meant nothing to me). Then, I "walked" the street view around the corner up the hill and to my house.

There's a person in my front yard, on google maps.

I know the photo was from last season, because it has my new front porch posts that I put up last June, and a section of flowerbed was just cleared in the photo that has gotten overgrown again (so it's not this year).

So...who's got good experiences with wifi cameras, maybe something with a motion sensor?

Now I'm looking for another mower to fix. I put the mower on marketplace for sale. Response to this was huge. In less than 16 hours; 777 people viewed the ad with 39 people interested in it. The first person to show up to look at it handed me the asking price and ran with it. I asked what I considered to be a fair price considering it's age and condition. I know I didn't under estimate it.

Back to working on the floors. Master BR, moved all but the bed to the guest room across the hall. Then shuffled the bed side to side. Threw a dust cover on it and piled it up.

As the furniture is put on the new floor I install felt on the feet. I use floor padding till I get the pads glued on.

This was the first sweeping of the hall when the pad was taken up.

I make a fresh mess when I take up the tack strips and scrape the glue off the concrete.

Digging your "supervisor" there. D'Ogee has the same role here.

OK, A/C break is over, time to finish M's brake job. Then I'll have earned a spin on the BMW.

Yay! I forgot how simple a Solara's front brakes are.

RD, I marvel at your industriousness. Good on ya, my friend... installing flooring, wood fences for the MIL, and flipping mowers on the side. Wow.

After moving into this house I put a doggy door in. The dog has to wear an unit on her harness that communicates with the door. It didn't take long after the MIL's fence was up for a doggy door to show up. I went to install it today. Newer construction is lacking. There are 2x6 studs in the outside walls. Not 16" on center. The outer wall was 2 pieces of foam board and a layer of vinyl siding. I only had one tunnel piece and need 2 for the thicker wall. So, it is ordered. I will need to put some lumber in the wall before sealing it up for the final time. I really like this doggy door kit. Taking my time, it only takes an hour start to finnish if I wave the right number of tunnels. MIL and Wife measured and ordered this time. Note to self..... I like that the dog can go when needed.

I have been relaxing a little this morning and thinking too much. I once told a very large man while he was holding a pork chop by the bone, eating it, "When the aliens come, they'll eat the fat ones first." It was just me and him there and we both laughed. He passed away this year and I miss him.

A house in a high end neighborhood was being remodeled. There is a scratch on them. I plan on fixing that. I gave the guy $50 for them. Looks like Home Depot has some similar doors. But, I am not finding this set. They are a little pricey.

I am not fan of carpet. You don't know how dirty they are till you take them up. I went and picked up an exercise bike today and the guy had a big file cabinet he was giving away. I use big file cabinets to store my tools I don't use every day. I have a wooden entertainment cabinet in the garage that has been holding odds and ends I will use. This will replace it, and match more closely to my tool holders. I kick myself because when I got my other cabinets I didn't think I would store so many tools. The place I got them from had enough to outfit my whole garage. I meant well.

So, today we get rid of the entry tile. That stuff was glued down like they knew what they were doing. I'll be done with it after lunch sometime.

I just had to go all Thor on it. What a mess.

More fun watching you destroy/create. I'm gonna eat a bit, pay bills, feed the animals, then attack the giant junk/recycling pile out back. BOLO for fiddlebacks and snakes... heebiejeebies await.

It's solid bamboo in 6' lengths. Hard on saws. Easy to lay after the prep. is done. I'm using some good pad and vapor barrier Someone wanted me to do their's. I am too slow at flooring to make a living at it. Getting too old for this stuff. After this room, I have two bedrooms to go. I still have to finnish fitting those closet doors. I have to shave 1/8" off all 8 long sides. Then stain them a little darker. Very little. Then trim all base boards after a little dri-wall mudding. There is a line of projects waiting. Who was it that retired a while back?

As an aside, it's not the bamboo that's hard on the saw blades.
With the warranty on those finishes, it's because they have a high silica content.
That's what's killing your saw blades.

I inherited high end blades and saws. Still on the first blade after the halfway point. Not smokin' yet but I'll have to take the blade in for sharpening after I finish. I'll appreciate the silica in the long run. The tile had grout in between them. I think they used cement/concrete to put them down. Just got the last of it chipped out with a 2" cold chisel and a lineman's hammer. My favorite hammer for beating on stuff. I may put floor down yet today. I should think about breakfast.

Well, you'll know it's time to change the blade when the cut ends are brown.

I did about 400 feet of that type about 6 years ago and went thru 2 carbide tipped 80 tooth blades.
But, it's in a rental and still holding up, so you will appreciate the finish over time.

I have 2 bedrooms left and about three strips in the living room. Rain came up when it was time to open three new boxes. I set the saw up in front of the garage. I only want to do it once. I'm running a 12" 60T Tungsten Hitachi blade in a Dewalt miter. I've laid 720 SF so far.

I had to shave an 1/8" off each side of the 4 sections.

Then sand and round all the panels.

Next was to stain them to match the floors.

After the stain rubbing the units had to be reassembled.

Then alignment.

I've been working on getting my garage organized. I had a desk and an armoire to dispose of. So at midnight last night I had a little fire.

As I sat on the back porch I watched this for hours. I wonder when it will die down. Welcome back to Indiana.

Yesterday My wife was straightening out the living room enough that I wouldn't feel like I was just piling it on her if I don't let her find everything I've moved before hitting the next room. She shows me the living room vent and asks where the opening in the floor is. Doh. Well it is right there now.

The garage is coming along slowly. I may move some to the shed tomorrow with the lower temperatures.
