Looking forward to my fist track day in years. Run-off looks dicey (but no worse than Willow Springs) and it's going to be HARD on braking with the long straights.
Is Pirelli going to be providing rubber for the event? I'm concerned about the government HAARP weather control and might need rains if they change the weather and make it rain.
I understand Area 51 Management will provide trackside photos.
I do like the high speed pit entry and exit. Track entry and exit from the pits looks good from either clockwise or counter-clockwise direction.
I rode with a friend (in a rental car) to just short of that point about 15 years ago. We just wanted to be able to say we'd been there. It's about 100 miles out of Las Vegas where we were attending a convention.
You can see that just before you get to the sign, there's a turnaround on the right. This area is ~15 miles down a dirt road in the desert, and there is no sign of human habitation for the entire length. There are detectors under the road and hidden cameras that let them know you're coming LONG before you get there.
When we crested the hill right before you can see the sign, the Camo Dudes were sitting in a pickup off to the right facing us, obviously waiting on us to show up. We turned into the turnaround, paused for about 10 seconds, noted the sign said "NO PHOTOGRAPHY/USE OF DEADLY FORCE AUTHORIZED", turned around and drove back out. The guys in the truck followed us most of the way back to the paved road.
I imagine if these guys had gone no further than the turnaround, they wouldn't have gotten hassled.
If you are going to that "track" watch out for the gravity shift near hanger 23. They still haven't figured out how to shut that thing down without it converting the planet to a light minute smear of plasma.
