Pride & Prejudice I get what you're saying there, but that's a very narrow perspective of those two flags. I've gone back and forth a few times on the Confederate flag over the years. I take great pride in my Southern heritage, although having moved to the PNW, I'm no longer a fan of living in the South. Can't wait to move back to WA in a few months from NC. That flag means a lot of things to a lot of different people. No i don't believe in slavery, yes it's good that the south lost, and in fact I wish the south had never seceded. But that's still the flag of the south, and of southern lineage. The rainbow also has a very different meaning for anyone who believes the Old Testament. I love rainbows. Just not their current cultural association. The flip side to all of that is - in todays world I can't fly my confederate flag or people will hate me even though I don't hate them and hate's got nothing to do with it. And if I simply say, "i disagree with the rainbow flag", then again I will be hated although hatred has got nothing to do with it. Culture is backwards. Good job, Russian destabilization operations. | ||

"the Rainbow was God's gift to mankind after the flood drowned the wicked to give them hope that they might live in Her Grace. It's an ancient Jewish & Christian symbol of the promise that mankind would not receive another reset, that God would hold His Wrath, and that it is up to us to live and treat others in a Christian manner, to love one another and fight for what's right against those who pervert and despise the very idea that there is right and wrong. And, Yes, you do realize wicked men have used the rainbow as a symbol for other things, but generally while claiming it is for tolerance, those people are the most intolerant of anyone who disagrees with them. It'a not your fault, the Rainbow's, Or God's, that any symbol can be used by evil as well as good. Isn't it beautiful? Science, Faith, Promise, all right there. " Or not, as you choose. But by golly you would get a reaction if you did. | ||

It's an ancient Jewish & Christian symbol of the promise that mankind would not receive another reset, that God would hold His Wrath Now correct me, if I'm wrong. I had always been under the impression that it was only a symbol that He would not use water to "reset mankind". | ||

A cynic might say water alone is mentioned so that cities killed by volcano don't count. And anyone who argues theological points on the subject should be smart enough to get that you are busting his chops. Leave the intolerance to fundamentalist Islam and Leftists. The Nazis ruined the swastika for multiple cultures that had used it for thousands of years before Hitler culturally appropriated it. Don't let that happen to rainbows. Refuse to recognize it as a political symbol. It will drive them more nuts. | ||
