Depends how long you want it to last. I've always had good luck with the HD batteries - my 06 is still on its second one.

Value judgement.
Had good luck with the HD batteries. 5 years. But, they are proud of them.
Not so good luck with Battery Plus offerings. Cheaper, but got exactly the warranty months (18) out of it before failure.
So, I've bought a couple (for different bikes) here:

less than half cost of the HD offering, going on 3 years now with no issues.

Not affiliated in any way.

I have also had good luck with the HD batteries but I refuse to give them any more money so I figured out who manufactures them for HD and its Deka.

I have been using Deka's for some time and get the same life out of them as the HD branded ones.

Hope it helps.
Been ordering Mine from these guys. and never had any issues.

The last HD battery I bought must have been on the shelf forever. I stopped buying from them. When they had fresh batteries for my XBs they were my go to. Not anymore. I go with DEKA ETX now.

Big Crank batteries from BatteryMart. Under $100, ship free and Made in USA. Look like grey cased HD batteries to me. Get a few years out of one, then they go into other bikes and last seemingly forever... the XB12XT doesn't like 'old' batteries.

I have found that the used batteries work well in riding mowers.

The other thing that saves wear on battery and starter system, I turn the bike off. Then put it in second, clutch out and roll it backwards off compression. Then put it in neutral. When I start it next time it doesn't hang up.
