I fell in lust with the RF when I first saw it at the Suzuki tent at the Laguna Seca GP. 2 years later, bought this '94. 86129squids, I actually rode an XN85 when I worked at the dealer. My opinion it was ok, handled about as well as my GS550, but when the fun starts in earnest the rev limiter kicked in. And I can't believe there isn't a Brittan represented here yet. I mean the exhaust system alone...

Good God! Rick, I'd just about have to head to Barber to beat your pics. Still have Barber Vintage Days on my bucket list one of these years. Willm- I grew up on a 1981 TS125 Suzuki, grabbed all the dealer pamphlets every year. My dealership had an XN85, it languished on the sales floor SO long. As a teenager, I lusted and schemed to acquire that bike, I knew what it was. Finally some meathead bought it and promptly wadded it within a month. One of 200 imported, the rarest of the turbobikes.

That same phenomenon happened when the V Max came out. Not one sold around Massachusetts for the first six months lasted long enough to get past the Warranty. |

+1 on the V-max thing. EVERY person I have ever talked to that had owned one has crashed it. Some gave me the tired old "motorcycles are dangerous. I used to ride a V-max. Now I ride nothing." Awesome engine + mediocre chassis + Arrogant newbie riders = skin grafts |

V65 Magna. The reason the V Max was born. Most fun I had on a street bike until my Uly came along. |

175 or 305cc. Most powerful 90cc 4 stroke at the time 1967 beat all european bikes of the same.
Impressively fast and powerful for its small size !!! (Message edited by ebutch on May 20, 2019) |

Hell's Bells. I once owned a CB400F, blue paint, not too badly molested.. but, although I'm too big for both, I wanted one of these. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_CB77 |

Wow... wonder what it'd be like to ride a well-sorted TZ750? My old RZ350 (bored 0.40 over, pipes, etc.) was like riding God's own slingshot. Never had anything that quick since. Always lusted over the RZ500's- just imagine a 500cc 2smoke V-4 with YPVS (Yamaha PowerValve System)... |
