I'll be hitting Chicago for a little bit after the races in Springfield, so I need to know, where is the best pizza in Chicago?

Also, anything else worth seeing or eating while I'm there?

I don't live in the city so I don't count.
Lou Malnati's
Rosati's Pizza
Giordano's (my fav')

Visit Sears Tower (aka Willis Tower) They have clear ledges (boxes) that you can step out on to and I think they tilt now.

The Bean

Route 66 start

PS. It's been cold and rainy/ snowy spring.

For my money... Stuffed pizza from Nancy's. Not sure if they still have a downtown location though.

Gotta do the Sears Tower, a la Ferris Bueller.

The question isn't "what are we going to do"...the question is, "what AREN'T we going to do".

That's true. If you like what Cities offer, Chicago offers some good stuff. The Science and Industry Museum is top notch, as is the Art Museum. Which ever suits you. The Billy Goat Tavern can be fun when you are up for food served by surly people. Lot's of good ethnic food. The Sears Tower on a clear day offers a spectacular view, but it does have a different name now. Lots of great architecture to see.

Personally, I prefer to be out in the woods someplace. Pick your poison!

If you find yourself near any of these locations: https://www.macianos.com/order.html

They were the goto for Tracey and I while in Northern Illinois. We made it onto their christmas list.

It’s available for fries, asking for it on your dog may get you escorted out!
If you must do it away from the vendor!

Ah yes. Vienna Beef hot dogs, in a poppy seed bun with ketchup.

That's how I eat them - because that's how I like them!

Don't like it? I really don't care. My money is as good as anyone else's...

If I wanted a flippin' salad, I would've order a Bloody Mary!

Chicago style dogs are NOT served with ketchup, they're served with yellow mustard (unlike NY dogs served with brown mustard). They are also smothered in all kind of things no New Yorker would ever consider. Oddly, it all works, but you will likely get a lot of it on your shirt no matter how hard you try.

Froggy,

Apparently the closest thing they have to pizza in Chicago is hot dogs.

I've come to the conclusion that there are parts of the country where "Tomato sauce = Ketchup." Thankfully, that does NOT apply to Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza.

That was the conclusion I also came to. I don't think my Fiancé will be interested in hot dogs but I'll see what happens!

Lou Malnati's has several votes so I'll look into that, thank you.

Froggy, Rockford, Illinois. Maciano's Pizza & Pastaria. The pizza is good. i've never had a bad experience with them. I liked dining in or ordering for delivery. I don't think they are in the windy city.

One more thing, Froggy! As a fellow New Yorker, I know you'll find this difficult to accept BUT: It is perfectly okay to eat a Chicago Pizza with a knife and fork...

It is required with a Nancy's stuffed pizza. Pizza you can fold... Well, let's not go there.

Lou Malnati's will get a number of votes simply by having plenty of locations. Good pizza, but can be topped IMO.

I simply don't get the Chicago hot dog thing. Come to this area and get a Polish dog! Yes, ketchup is OK.

Italian beef on the OTH, seems to be a Chicago thing worthy of note IMO.
