One of the best blues harp players ever; he started when he was 9 years old. I saw he and his band open for Johnny Winter back in 1975.

I saw James open for Edgar Winter with Rick Derringer at Alex Cooley's Electric Ballroom in 1976.Johnny Winter was in the VIP booth about 20' away from me.James was a hard act to follow.

He was <everywhere>, all of the time! hard-working musician; I saw him open for Hot Tuna, and a third of the people left the arena figuring HT would be a let-down (it was)...:-)
