Those "Californians" that are screwing up other states are California transplants that couldn't make it here in the first place. They come here for some Hollywood fantasy that doesn't exist, try to change the state to adhere to their fantasy and leave when it back fires, leaving the rest of us to clean up their mess.

I like the Flyer idea, but be careful about slander laws. It could backfire on you. Make it say something like "XXX sells stolen property", or something that is either vague enough not to be direct slander or is provable with evidence.

I like the idea of getting the insurance company involved. They will pursue anything that will help them recover their money and legal fees.

The insurance companies will not do anything. It's easier to just pay it out than to investigate. I tried that when a body shop was ripping me off on an insurance claim, they could care less and just paid it out to that body shop.

Post the stolen vehicle VIN number here also.

Half year ago my new Honda HRV was a suspect of theft attempt. It happened on parking lot in Issaquah WA near Tiger Mt during daytime in pretty crowded area. The thief was not able to steal my car but damaged the doors.

I do not know how to deal with police if they do not want to do anything even if you already found your items posted on facebook. But I would do something for home security for future like alarm system or maybe cameras. After the accident with my car I etched VIN numbers on all vehicle glasses and mirrors, attached antitheft nuts on wheels and I will probably also install alarm system.

I have already installed alarm system on my Buell XB and it is armed even when it is parked inside my home. I also use disks locks on both rear and front wheels when parked outside.

Insurance company. I've had good luck with them. They really like to go after other insurance companies. Any time I have had to deal with one, I try to let my company handle them.

I had one bad time when the adjuster didn't count up all the damage and should have totaled the car. 30 days later the night prior to picking up my car from the dealership I went to the lot and checked the car. There were over 30 items still wrong or caused to be wrong by the dealerships repairs. When I refused the vehicle the next morning the dealership wanted to know how I knew these things are wrong. I said I was here last night and they went all wonkey. I called the insurance company in front of them and explained in detail why I was not turning in the rental car. Car got repaired the second time.

I wasn't riding the bike because we had moved out of state and were waiting for the house to sell so I didn't have ins on it. I was hoping that Allstate would give me something because it was in a locked facility on my property but no such luck. I'm out 100% for the bike. Pretty sad as I bought it new (before the firesale) and swore that I'd never sell it. I'm also out the full cost of my daughters 4-wheeler because it's an "offroad vehicle" that isn't used for property maintenance. Figuring 'new' cost on everything, the thiefs made off with probably close to $25,000 worth of stuff. Allstate was generous enough to cut me a check for somewhere around 4.

That sucks.

As for insurance companies, even the best ones suck.

Quite frankly, they are in the business of collecting premiums... not paying claims.
