I didn't like the high at all, but it sure eased the pain.

When I had my kidney stone they pushed dilaudid into my IV and I got so violently ill that we had to back off to hydrocodone.

I don't like any of that stuff.

I knew addicts that shot up dilaudid then raved about how much higher they got when they threw up. Something wrong about looking forward to throwing up that you caused deliberately just to get high.

So Saturday we finally got to near 80 degrees. I cannot stop thinking about Jim's BBQ and riding the Uly.

I rode to Morristown Tn to a place called Webbers BBQ. Seen it there for years. They cook out front on giant smoker grilles. They used to have free samples in their parking lot.

All of this time, being it is called Webbers BBQ, I thought the place was actually selling grilles and smokers. I had no idea it was an actual restaurant!

Anyhow, it gave me a nice 35 mile round trip with some pretty good BBQ ribs.

With Jim's ribs and fixings at a 9.99999, on a ten scale, I give this place a solid 8.7. Made for a nice little outing.

As per usual, I got several comments and compliments on my Uly. One guy who knew of Buell Motorcycles obsessed over it through his whole meal. That always makes me laugh inside, but proud of it too.

FWIW- Marcia picked up some baby back ribs at K-Roger yesterday, BOGO. Found my stash of fruit tree wood yesterday in the calamity that is my shed... might fire my smoker up next week.

Indeed, good to hear Vern and John are doing better! I just got home yesterday. I made it to Florida and enjoyed my time there. I did take a 250 mile ride with some friends on the only twisty roads in Florida, too bad it was residential and 35 mph!
The bike stayed trailered after that. Speaking of trailers, the left wheel bearing blew near the Tennessee border. I heard and felt it but when I pulled over I couldn't see anything wrong so I figured it must have been a pot hole I felt. As I neared Nashville I was slowed by construction and then I could hear the clunk clunk of a wheel flopping around. I was able to pull off and obviously see the problem this time. I tightened the nut as far as it would go and put my destination in Google Maps and told it to stay away from highways and a half hour later and with very little traffic I limped it to my friends hotel. There I spent the rest of the day tearing it apart only to have the rear inner race stuck to the shaft. I spent the next day making several runs to parts and tool places having to modify pullers thanks to the maintenance guys disk grinder! I finally got that bastard off the axle but the the new bearing wouldn't go on. A file and emery paper later it finally went! I was able to find a whole hub with the bearings and grease already installed so just bought it and slapped it on. What a PITA! By that time I was wore out and my friend offered another night at the hotel which I immediately agreed to. A shower later we were off to the Bavarian Bierhaus!! We were stacking glasses, just like in high school!!
Anyway, the trailer made it home and all is well. Had a real blast this year even though we missed Crusty and Vern. Looking forward to seeing you guys at the end of May!

Greg I can feel your pain!My friend Bernard and I were going to Wauseon Ohio for the AMCA meet when going through Chattanooga the same thing happened to the single rail we were hauling a '68 Bonneville on.He called a rollback that hauled us to the next exit which happened to be the exit the HD store and Northern tool were on.We got a room and the next morning picked up parts from Northern and went to the HD shop where they let me set up on the apron outside the shop to do the repair. The inner race was stuck on the shaft(sound familiar?)between a chisel and die grinder with a cutoff wheel I got it off, cleaned up the shaft and installed the new parts to get us back on the road.Filed under the heading of crap you hope never happens out on the road!

Roy,I sent you a PM and was wondering if you got it.

Thanks y'all. I have come to the point that I can once again sleep lying down. Still have a slightly productive cough, but making it two to three hours between coughing fits is much better. My eyes are clear of mucus and being blood shot, and that is nice.

Five to six weeks is enough already! It helps a lot having 70 degree plus days. Having this going into winter would likely turn into something bad.

I felt so good yesterday that I almost rode my bike.

I heard that people that have been sick for a while feel real good just before they die.
Also, how you feel is relative.

Finally Got around editing .. err "finding" some video. If a FJ left a buell group for a solo run, some time after one of the said bikes had a bearing failure on 60 it would look something like this. Can not figure out how to embed.

Running 60

I need to investigate those Shred pegs a little more. My brake peddle mounts to my foot peg bracket. Their bracket did not appear to accommodate that, but maybe they are showing the shifter side foot peg.
