Yea! Puppies! Just got back from store. Storm moving in, roads snowy, but not deep yet. I'm in a Caravan with studded snows. Driving slow and easy, and I'm laughing at, but sympathetic with, the poor dork in a Jeep Cherokee with bald summer tires. I can see his dash flashing "you got no traction" warnings and he's holding up a bunch of real morons who think they can drive like it's summer... And the capper was the lady in the Infiniti SUV that didn't clear any windows, and drove out of her parking spot right in front of one of the lot plows, didn't even glance left & right. "I've got a luxury suv! I are Inwincible!". I'm sure I'll complain more later this season, but this was the second snow event this season, and it has been long enough to reset all the mindless drone's caution centers to Off. ( many never get out of Off ) Good luck to the folk south of me, and the New England zone of white. Wish me luck, I'll be fine if the power stays on. | ||

Similar. It's not like it doesn't happen every year for months. In California, you get months of oil layed down, so that sprinkle actually is a major hazard as it lifts off. We get lots more rain here so it doesn't build up as bad, and I've spent many a half hour parked under an overpass, watching the rain wash the oil off, then been on my soggy way. Met some interesting people there, too. The smart riders, Hell's Angels, vets, Gold Wingers, Peacekeepers..... When your job is dealing with traffic every day, you get both contempt for the stupid, & if you're lucky/smart, mellow out your road rage. Just not worth it to be angry, no need to get ulcers and crank the blood pressure. | ||

When I lived in San Diego, I was on a bluff, 200' above I-8. Whenever it rained, I'd grab a 6 of beer, my weed and a radio and head to a spot to watch I-8 traffic. Couldn't believe how the idiots could crash at 10 mph. Worse than our first 2 or 3 snowstorms. greta entertainment Z | ||
