Has anyone played the new Taylor V class guitars?I played several Monday. My favorite of what I got to play and I didn't play the whole V class line was a 614CE Builders Edition, torrefied spruce top and big leaf maple back and sides. It was the only builders edition they had in stock. If I ever get up the coin to buy a V class,I think I'll go down to Blues Angel Music in Pensacola and do a back to back comparo of the whole line.I bought my Rainsong there and noted that they have a large stock of Taylor's. |

Sorry, I've only ever played a Taylor 12 string which wasn't related to your question. How does a $4k Taylor compare to a Martin of the same value in your opinion? |

I haven't played one as I try to stay away from guitar stores. They're very dangerous places. |

Dave,it's hard to answer that question if your talking about the new Taylor V class guitars.I've owned one Martin and one Taylor so my hands on experience is limited.I got interested in the new Taylor's when a friend started giving me his old Wood & Steel Taylor magazines and articles started appearing about the new bracing system.Andy Powers has created a new bracing system that is totally different than the X and ladder bracing systems that have been around for over a hundred years. It allows the top to be strong where it needs to be but vibrate more than other systems, giving more volume, sustain and better intonation.I read everything I could and watched all the videos I could find but didn't lay my hands on one until early this week.I found the claims to be true.Every note rings all the way down the neck with great sustain and the intonation is incredible. You should read what has been written and watch the videos if your interested. "I haven't played one as I try to stay away from guitar stores. They're very dangerous places." More dangerous than motorcycle shops? |

I guess it depends what I'm currently going berserk over, things take turns. Every so often I think I'd like to get another acoustic and maybe two or three electrics but there comes a point where enough is enough. |

I really regret letting go of my Fender G-Clef 12 string acoustic. Sweetest sound I've ever heard. Have an old Peavy short-neck in a blo-mold case with a pig-nose. Pick it up at least twice a year. sound therapy. Z |

I’ve got a number of Taylor’s and Martins. Of all my 12 strings......Gibson Songwriter, Gibson SG, Epiphone DR212x2 and Taylor ....the Taylor is far and away my favorite. |

>>>>I have not. But, as a result of reading this thread . . .I'd love to pick one up to compare. |

Playing X braced and V braced Taylors back to back was what did it for me.And as I said above the 614CE Builders Edition was the best of the bunch considering they didn't have a K14CE Builders Edition available to compare it with. |
