And it's not just schools. Anywhere the sheep are allowed to fight back, is exponentially less likely to be targeted. I think the left (if they've thought this much about it at all) is afraid of how many teachers actually WILL carry if allowed, thus ruining a large part of the anti-gun mantra. | ||

Patrick, so true, and bewildering to learn. I watched with amazement early on in Trump's presidency where he had convened a meeting with county sheriff's at the White House. The issue of civil forfeiture came up, some of the sheriffs ruing their trouble with that concerning court and federal actions that prevented them from taking large caches of drug money. Trump asked the question, something like "are there any concerns on the other side", and not one of the sheriffs spoke up, many outright stating "no." Very disappointing. Innocent people have had their livelihoods ruined and there life savings confiscated. Outrageous, but I suppose the sheriffs just may not have known about those issues, many being federal law enforcement. It's now in the Supreme Court. Let's hope they set things right. By their questions and reactions to the answers by the state AG defending CF, it seems likely some new limits will be established. Stupid Rhenquist. | ||

Well, this was certainly foreseeable... Drugs and syringes have become such a problem in Starbucks bathrooms that the company is installing needle-disposal boxes in certain locations And for the locations that are finding needles in their trash daily, shouldn't they be required to deal with this as bio-hazard waste? They certainly will have to once they install the sharps disposal containers. That gets expensive! | ||

My younger son worked in a Starbuck in a less than desirable area on the west side of Phoenix. Finding drug paraphilia liked used needles dirty spoons and the occasional unconscious people in the bathroom was disturbingly common. Used condoms were pretty common too. I told him to treat all that stuff and hazmat materials. | ||

So let's outlaw illegals, like they're trying to do with AR's...wait...um...well...OK. Let's ENFORCE the laws that are already in place, regarding illegals. Build the wall, pull any and all Federal funding from any "sanctuary" locale, and let them fend for themselves. Seems to me that's the only way citizens will learn what these policies are truly doing. They certainly won't learn it from the media, nor their politicians. The Feds take your money in the form of taxation, then offer it back, but only if you are willing to do things their way. You are free to say no, but they will still be taking your money. Point taken. One way to look at it, though, is...you choose to live in the USA. Therefore you have agreed to live by the RULES of the USA, and that includes not only following the laws thereof, but also remitting taxes to the government. In return for that, the government agrees to protect you and your family, and give you the ability to lead a happy productive life. "Sanctuary" locales have broken the contract, therefore (in my mind, and I would think in any OBJECTIVE court of law) the contract is null and void and the government no longer has any obligation to support nor protect those locales. If you want to push the taxation aspect...nix the "sanctuary" residents' federal tax obligations for as long as they live in a "sanctuary" locale. Not gonna follow the rules, we don't want anything to do with you. But. Pull ALL federal funding - infrastructure like roads and bridges. Police/law enforcement/first responder dollars. Any type of disaster relief. Education dollars (such as it is). You can make your own rules...but... you are on your own. Period. It *could* work for the locale...or it could end up Chicago-squared. Inner city Baltimore, but worse. Streets of San Francisco full of needles and feces and then some. They want to try it...let them try it. But it's not a halfway-thing - do it all, or toe the line and play by the rules of the USA. No middle ground where this is concerned - you cannot pick and choose which laws of the nation you decide to follow. | ||

We shouldn't HAVE to contemplate it..except that we have cities and whole STATES who openly flaunt a refusal to uphold federal law. And, it's not speed limits or national holidays on the calendar we're talking about here...this is criminal prosecution here. I fail to comprehend how these locales can get away with - much less PROMOTE - the fact that they're refusing to uphold Federal Criminal Law. There needs to be sweeping reform, and the politicians who promote this crap need to be prosecuted for every single crime perpetrated, alongside every illegal responsible. Whether it happens before, or after, some form of mass revolt...is up to the "politicians" who are running the asylum at the moment. I just watched Hannity, with (I counted) about a dozen Angel families on set. Caught it in the middle, but it was still enough to bring tears to my eyes. All. Totally. Preventable. I'm going to steal a line from Sean in this show - we need to build the wall. We can put a door in it, for legal entry...but we need the wall to lock out the criminals who are killing Americans. And the fact that most of these Angel families were there because they lost a loved one to a REPEAT offender - deported multiple times, arrested multiple times then released, whatever - comes down on the politicians. They need to be brought up on charges just like the criminals who commit the acts. | ||

On The Grand Tour, tv show, ( old top gear trio ) on one of their American stops, the host comments on British Speed Cameras, and jokes America doesn't have them, because we'd just shoot them. The growl of agreement from the audience scared him, visibly.
