Aesquire,

I apparently neglected to hit "Post Message" and found this response to one of your previous comments in an open tab.

Odin is pure fiction, so he never actually did anything.

Doesn't divorce require the state be involved in marriage to some extent? Is there a way around that? Get the federal government out of it, okay, maybe. At one time marriage was deemed worthy of formal govt support and recognition as absolutely vital to the sustainable health of the nation. That was when it was recognized as being paramount towards raising children who are good and productive and happy people. When it was radically forcibly changed from that to being about the mere desires of two consenting adults, a purely selfish perspective, then society may have begun to ring its own death knell. Time will tell. Currently authoritarians nationwide are persecuting those who refuse to tow the line through their personal expression and service.

People are fired, their business attacked, their bank accounts raided, because they're intolerant. You can't make it up.

Was nice to see the Fire Chief in Atlanta awarded his case. Hopefully the rest will be adjudicated similarly in support of individual liberty.

Not sure if Trump ever commented on such cases.

He's a wild and crazy guy, or at one time was...

Wild & Crazy Trump

I won't argue about your mistaken disbelief in Odin. You're welcome to your opinion.

I will point out that there hasn't been a Frost Giant sighting in quite some time. : )

And Anthony Hopkins plays old one eye great in the comic book movies. Rene Russo was great as Freya, and while an unusual casting choice, Idris Elba as Heimdall? DAng.

There's a belief system, Hermetic, that sees the universe as layers, like an onion. The outside is a projection, what our senses tell us, inside that is the dream plane, where our minds are. Inside that is the iconic realm, where our myths and heavens are, and in the middle is the Source. Big g God.

I don't explain it well, and there's lots more to the belief, and I'm not a student, or believer, so do your own research.

But the notion that Yaweh & Zeus occasionally get together over wine and compare thunderbolts, amuses me. ( even if that's imaginary )

Blessed be.

Has there ever been a frost giant sighting aside from the Poetic Edda?

Who knows what was lost before they wrote it down?

But if you like, try the novel The 13th Warrior by Michael Crichton. The movie is great, with some horrid technical flaws.

The armor is a mish mash from a raid on the props room. Some bits are from centuries later.

You can't turn a broadsword into a scimitar on just a grindstone without wrecking it....

And..... Viking swords were not iron clubs. They were fast, handy, and relatively light. Metallurgy from crude to state of the art, and good ore.

The clothing, homes, and town were authentic, better than most.

Great premise, actors, humor. 2nd best language transition scene in a movie. ¿

Best, was in Hunt For Red October, when the Captain was reading Oppenheimer.

It's going to be interesting to follow the quest to impeach Trump.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/05/opinion/sunday/ trump-impeachment.html?action=click&module=Opinion &pgtype=Homepage

I've gone ahead and purchased a couple books to learn more since every conversation seems immediately tainted with ideally and disagreements on ideology are not impeachable offenses.

I suspect that thwarted efforts to impeach both Bush and Obama will also dilute any serious effort.

I'm also confide that the myopic pursuit of impeachment will keep anyone in Washington from doing the very things we elected them to go there and do.

When I read about Alexandria Somethingtez being labeled as an "economic genius" I get concerned. I'd be eager to hear how Soros and the Clinton's feel about her 70% marginal tax rate.

I pretty much try to stay clear of this stuff . . .but it's going to be a good year to reread the constitution, break out my Con Law books and become armed with facts as the BS begins to fly.

Maybe a few of these new job holders will vote for continuing Trump economic policies in 2020? I changed jobs three times during the historically weak recovery of Obama's first term. I was able to retire in 2012 and escape his failure.

Watching the news just now - Wisconsin finished the year with a $588M budget SURPLUS.

Seems lower tax burden and increased deregulation actually....WORKS. (When you let it)

Huh. Go figure.

Trump just walked out of a meeting with Pelosi and Schumer on wall funding. Democrats are willing to burn it all down to get their way, and Trump is the first Republican, ever, to call them on their bull shit. So, I guess, let it burn. I’ll say it again: The wall is law as of 2006. Take the money from national defense if they won’t fund it directly. A wall IS national defense. No one speaks ill of the ancient Chinese for putting up a wall to stop invading Mongols. Why is the US suddenly the bad guy?

I'm weak on Chinese history, (among other topics). Didn't the Mongols ride around the great wall? If true its a logical reason to hold firm and make ours continuous.

A wall may be "old tech"...but it IS a fundamental ingredient to a secure border.

Close the gates and don't let anyone in. Or out. Shoot on sight. What? Too extreme? Fine. Approve the wall.

https://www.breitbart.com/economy/2019/01/10/flash back-establishment-spent-1-billion-v irtual-fence-avoid-building-border-fence

Once upon a time, a president traded amnesty for border security, and was cheated out of border security. That was Reagan.

Then, angry about illegal trespassers killing and taking jobs, the people got a bill passed to build a fence, and were cheated out of the fence.

Today, with Iranian sponsored drugs pouring across the border because Obama stopped the investigation into his Mullah buddy's drug cartel, it has become a fight between the entire Congress minus the few good ones, & Donald over a fence, wall, whatever.

When one side of a dispute repeatedly lies, cheats, and acts in bad faith, there is no reason to negotiate anymore.

F Congress. Time to stop paying our enemies.

This may take fertilizer.

The left keeps whining about "what about all the families, the children, the innocent people who just want a better life?"

1 - they're not "innocent" if their main goal is to break our laws in order to be here in the first place. But, that's a non-issue here because the left will never understand the concept.

2 - build a wall. Send a message. When "those families" and "those children" and "those innocent people" know there's a wall in place, and they can't simply stroll in and break our laws...most of them will STOP TRYING. Maybe they'll take the time to do it the right way...maybe they'll put forth the effort to make their OWN country better. Either way - kids don't get hurt, "innocent families" aren't in danger, and we don't get caravans of tens of thousands of lawbreakers (again - entering our nation illegally IS BREAKING THE LAW).

Maybe...our President can package the wall in a bill with some proper immigration reform. Add to the staffing. Add to the processing offices. Do NOT reduce the requirements for legal entry, do NOT reduce the vetting process...but put some more manpower and budgeting in place to make entering LEGALLY (and becoming a citizen, and paying taxes, and supporting yourself) less hateful. Make it less hateful to do it the right way...and doing it the wrong way just to get it done, becomes less attractive.

But what do I know.

Obama's Wars. Illegal, immoral, without Congressional authorization, 11 million + refugees, hundreds of thousands dead.

And it seems with the sole goal of giving Iran & Russia more power.

Taking as a given that Barry lied about his motives, Iran has never had a more effective ally against civilization.

Interesting . . . the effect that folks illegally crossing our borders are having as they bring their "culture" to our cities.
