Good choice! Ya can't choose chrome, ya can't choose black so hit the middle!

The perfect choice as done on the Uly. The color of road grime.....they always(almost) look clean!

They're not on the car yet, haven't had the chance.

I'll probably put them on before I take the car out to the mechanic's tomorrow - since they won't fit inside the car!

Stay tuned.

OK... here we go. Stock ride height. Coil overs are delayed due to Chinese New Year ( I guess they celebrate that in Taiwan also)...

Well, it's officially "dropped off".

For the next few weeks she will live with another man in sin, who will test drive the shit out of her and get her dialed in the way I want.

There will be visitation of course... Could end up with both of us inside her at some point...

Wait... were we just talking about a car?

NICE! Now I want a set for the Miata.

What coil overs are you going with? As fun as the Miata was on it's stock suspension, the coil overs made a huge difference in control near it's limits. Hopefully your shop understands how sensitive a car like that is to the alignment. Within specs is not good enough.

The two young gentlemen at OTP Automotive in Winder, Georgia (shameless plug) have been working on my friend Eric's MR2's for the last 6 or so years. They're both familiar with every piece of this car, which is why I've been waiting for them to have time to work on it.

The time has come, the work is getting done by pros who won't take me to the cleaners making my car a track-worthy daily driver.

Sounds like you are in good hands. I did the suspension swap on mine myself, but had the alignment done by a shop that does a lot of them for the Chicago Miata club that put on the auto cross races. The effort really pays off.

Not familiar with DGR. Looks like the track kit just has a stiffer damper and springs. I see you are not as concerned about a plush ride!

The two things that really changed on the Miata was the transitions and bumps or cracks mid corner. There was an intersection about a mile from home that had a big crack in the concrete in the middle of a right turn that always caused the back end to jump out sideways. Once I got the damping adjusted, it would go through that corner and maintain it's stability incredibly well. Side to side transitions are great now. It was a great upgrade to the Miata! Hope you find the same.

I specifically told him to ignore ride comfort and focus on cornering characteristics.

SWEET! Those do look nice on there.

I put a Ground Control adjustable setup on my toy. Although I usually use Bilstein shocks I went with the adjustable Koni's just so I could stiffen it up for track days. It rides pretty nice considering but boy does it ever handle better! It will pin you to the door in a right hander!

Update -

Haartz cloth top being installed today, should be done soon.

Arm rests have come back with new upholstery.

Suspension arms have arrived.

Cold air intake and exhaust have been ordered.

Polyurethane bushings have arrived.

Coilovers have been ordered, waiting for Chinese New Year to end so they can ship.

Chassis braces still being built in the UK

Wildly over budget, but the smile factor is going to be great...

OK... here it is.

The new top is as tight as a drum head - easy to open, hard to close, but it will loosen up in time.

Now, just waiting for the alignment shop to open so I can get it to go in a straight line.
