No New Year's ride for me- the Beemer's down, needs a battery and a starter relay. Plus, gotta work a BUSY New Year's Eve, I'll be sleeping in on 1/1/'19. What are youn's all planning? Post up your New Year's Eve plans, New Year's Day plans, resolutions, etc.

Once I get home after work, got a bottle of Martini and Rossi Prosecco and both some bowfin AND spoonbill caviar. Almost went for the Osetra, my guy at the fishmonger offered it to me a couple of bucks over cost, about $65. Maybe next year...

Prayers sent.

I plan to stay home & get to sleep early.

I consider New Year's Eve & St. Patrick's day "amateur nights" and avoid the roads.

At this writing we're over 450 covers, overbooked basically. My GM will have several times this evening where a table won't "turn", and he'll blow a gasket. And, my truck has a coolant leak, had to leave it at work and bum a ride to get home.

Looking forward to getting today, this year, over with.

Been traveling for the last 5 days. Finally got home last night. Predicting 7 inches of snow tonight. I think we will grill some steaks, and have a nice fire.

Hope to fly put of MKE soon and arrive in EWN tonight, and get back to my home.

Odds seem to be stacked against me already. Flight leaving MKE delayed which will potentially force me to miss my flight to EWN, in which case the backup plan is flying into Greenville, NC.

Air travel BLOWS!!!

Originally scheduled flight 1:41 pm, delayed until 2:00 pm...

If I could drive over 1,000 miles in 19 minutes... Or does Ourdee use that common core math now?

For those of you in the NYC Metro area, the weather tomorrow looks quite promising for the "Isle of Man(hattan)" ride!

Try to stay up for the ball drop.
Then New Years Day go for a ride on one 2 wheel mode or the other.

I can't use lowest common denominator cor/nhol/e math. While they are drawing pictures on the paper, I've wrote the answer to the question and am wondering why they are wasting so much time. I want to know why they took the math curriculum out of the special ed. class and made it mainstream.

My sincerest apologies kind sir. I was under the incorrect perception that you had left yesterday. I would not in 2018 assume you could drive 3158 mph. I know it is more like 3157.8947 and it goes on a bit more. But, you get the jest. I wish I had better math classes available in the 7th grade and they didn't make me sit in the high school classes. I remember doing the geometry workbook for the semester in about a week. I would have wound up in juvy if they gave me common core. They let me out of physics class to teach metal shop after the teacher told the principle that I slept through class and woke up to ace the tests on Fridays. Some of my friends were smarter than me. I wish someone would have directed me when I was young. There was one man that helped me for about three years. I think I got enough credits those years for three majors in Industrial Arts.

Got home in time for the Central ball drop, telecast from the Big Easy. Apparently all I needed was a new radiator cap, but I'll investigate further.

Enjoyed the Prosecco, and made my honey happy with two types of caviar. Been freezer bottle rolling my foot, then a hot soak, whilst watching a great Austin City Limits New Year's, with Marcia Ball, Robert Randolph, Los Lobos and Boz Scaggs, lots of other great players. I'll have to see Los Lobos if they ever come to us benighted Tennesseeans. I guess I'll get some sleep sometime this year.

So it's a new calendar year and the interwebz keeps on enriching our lives. I mean who knew that our own Brad, aka "...Squids" had a central ball that dropped last night on a national telecast?

New Years ride today. Supposed (according to my bass player, who talked me into the ride) to be 65 today.

NOT.

40 and cloudy. Didn't have the Uly on the tender long enough so I had to jump start it to go (BYO jump box), and after our first snack stop. After that she cranked over on her own. Figured out that one of my heated jacket liners works; the other one makes the gloves work. Time to do some wiring. And, I need to rebuild the forks (35k miles, time for some love). Other than that, it was a good ride. Brisk temps, but a good day on the bike. Haven't had a day on the bike in a loong time...

I did my traditional New Year's Day ride. Heavy overcast with a very light mist and the temperature was right around 40 F.

This year is going to be a good one.

58 degrees this morning. Ground was wet from last night's rain when we got to the Sidewalk Cafe, but it dried pretty quickly.

After doing our lap of Manhattan Island, we walked over to Katz's Delicatessen for a New York deli lunch.

All in all, a very good day.

"I mean who knew that our own Brad, aka "...Squids" had a central ball that dropped last night on a national telecast?"

Meh. Fake news.

Looks like they had a good time in NOLA- I was born in the central time zone, so it worked out perfectly for the cork pop. My honey thoroughly enjoyed the caviar, both types, but next time I'm going for a full classic presentation, with the best I can find.

I remember being young, and spending a lot of energy/time/$$$ on New Year's Eve. I survived. The chick MC in NOLA had the most hideous dress (?) outfit I'd seen in a while. Music sucked hugely, made worse by the piteous dancers. Then I thought about how much $$$ they made by the hour.

I turned on PBS and they had what looked to be a recast of an Austin City Limits NYE Hall of Fame broadcast, I believe Marcia Ball was the first honored. Great show, true blues all the way, awesome musicianship.

Does anyone know if they have a New Year's Eve live show for adults? Or, should we all be sleeping?

Sorry, my day 1 today has been sucky for a few reasons. We'll see about tomorrow.
