Here in Ohio, you have to fill in a square on a paper ballot. You also have to show ID and sign your name. They compared my signature to one on file to make sure I was really me. There was a nice lady out front of the polls who was handing out sheets with the Democratic candidates listed. That way I knew who to vote for or against in the contests I hadn't been following. Like I really care who is running for School Committee. I already knew who I was voting for in the important categories. Now I should know tomorrow how things shake out. Tonight, I'm going to do like Aesquire and watch a movie. |

I thought it was illegal to do any sort of campaigning or canvasing near a polling station... |

I think it is within 50' or something like that. I always see political signs out front. |

those ‘fancy’ touchscreen things were a bit ahead of their time. We had them in avionics trainers in the early 90s. Get a finger within three inches of the screen and selected something for you. Pieces of crap. |

I was pleased to see that, (as Joe said), here in the P.R.of MD that we did just that fill in the ovals and fed it into a local scanner for counting. Everybody I voted for apparently lost. Oh well, the peeps have peeped... |

Sorry to hear that Chauly. On the bright side you have an unlimited stamp on your griping license this year. |

I'm never shy about griping. On the bright side, my former Rep: (Goolatte) retired, and the baton was picked up by a friend of mine: Ben Cline. Kaine (AKA "Frat Boy") kept his seat, unfortunately. |

After Losing, Dem Politicians Now Say They Can Be Truthful Maybe there's a lesson to be learned here. People grip about Trump saying what's what, but many find that appealing. It's really sad that simply being honest is so rare among those that represent us. |

My district is red 75/25 last I checked. Been voting here for over two decades. Never had a line longer than 20 ft or so; never had to wait more than ten minutes or so. Always vote on election day in the evening. On Tuesday, the line was 150 ft and an hour and a half wait. Great turnout? Maybe that was part of it, but we had that in 2016 too. Nah, though we had eight machines, the poll people said that they had only received two of the computers required to check voters in and activate the voting machines for each voter. Made me suspicious of voter suppression. Meh. I didn't see anyone walk away. Incompetence is usually the more likely explannation. Had nice conversations with folks in line. |
