I have been a very good boy so I bought myself something better than a tie clasp. Somebody has to do it and nobody else will.

Familiar looking machine. Squids had one for a couple years. Good ride. I think Sifo has one also. |

I had a 1050 Sprint ST. The 955 is an awesome bike too though. I sold mine just before moving from IL. Happy birthday! |

Hell's bells! That thing looks stock and sano, is the paint stock?? I got mine with kinda cracked up plastics, original color bright red, and after my mechanic went through the bike I had Vern do a makeover into a proper British Racing Green. The paint was actually a mixing code from the 70's for Jaguar. Original color was red, it never should have been red. Once Vern did his magic, it was truly beautiful. That thing is good for a buck fifty, easy. The sound of the triple is like sex, but easier. Handles very nicely, not a Buell, but tracks well given the wheelbase. I kinda miss mine, but I survived it, I used to be fast. Sexier than Tom's newer model, which went manga with a dumb underseat exhaust. You might look into updating the suspension and brakes... I cooked them trying to follow No Rice at a BITA. Learn it, love it, be safe.

Thank you. I woke up early so I can wash and wax it and go out for a ride. Now if only the sun would come up so I can see what I'm doing. The lady I bought it from was more interested in my Buells than she was the Triumphs in the garage, ha, ha. Stock paint which is a fine metallic that leans towards a purple tint in the shade. Almost a flip flop color but not quite. It has the TOR (Triumph Off Road) exhaust, heated grips, Sargent seat, some sort of bolt on flip up section for the wind screen and is in really nice shape. I took it for a short spin before purchase and it's going to work out just fine. |

OK, I remember seeing one or two that color- the pics posted won't show exactly how the colors play in that finish. What a beauty! "Triumph Off Road exhaust"? LOL! If you ride without the bags you can rotate the can up, IIRC. I had the soft bags and sourced a Givi tank bag that clipped to a gas cap filler ring, no touchy da gorgeous paint! Used that bag all the time, soft saddlebags for trips. Also had a bar-end Throttlemeister. I still remember that fantastic motor. IL4's do nothing for me, but that triple had it all- torque, plenty of top end, and OMG the sound! In the twisties you really won't need more than 3rd gear, use the full rev range. And yes, it's got LONG legs- there's a straightaway nearby where I opened mine up, pushed 150 before I backed off, the thing felt like it was on a rail, totally stable. The only indication of speed was the speedometer, or if I raised my head from behind the windscreen. You're gonna love that thing. PM me your # and I'll text you some pics of mine. |
