Got away from iPhone. Now have LG V30 with Android 8.0. I can pair to the Jeep. I can listen to tunes. I can send/receive calls. I can get the "new text message from <contact>" alerts.

No ringtones/notification sounds.

No Waze prompts.

All worked (painful as it is to admit) with the iCrap.

Love the phone.

Love the Jeep.

Need them to play nicely together...any ideas?

Looks like they want you to plug in your phone and use Android Auto.

Joe you probably already know. Are there volume control buttons on the back side of your steering wheel?

Hahahaha . . . . same Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit and the Connect system works as well as any of the vehicle systems I've seen.

I may have to give my Jeep's U-connect another try, with the Android Auto. About all I could get it to do before was hands free calling, but the acoustics are so bad in the Wrangler that I literally have to yell to be heard.

Jeep's too old (2014) for Android Auto. For some reason, the '14 is the bastard child. '13 and earlier, and '15-up, map updates are available; 2014, nothing out there. Grr.

Phone (and Waze) works fine in my 01 Ram with its Alpine aftermarket stereo so I don't think its a phone setting; I need to figure out what's up in the Jeep's stereo.

I got it working... Sort of.

No Android Auto display on the dash. It will play music from the phone, and allow control from vehicle controls. Navigation is all on the phone though. Doesn't mute the stereo when speaking directions either. I was really hoping it would show Waze or Google Maps on the dashboard display, but no go.

I had forgotten how non-intuitive the blue tooth device paring is in the Jeep. At least the in car instructions tells you what web site to go to.

I'm not really sure Android Auto added anything I didn't have before.

Played around a bit more. All Android Auto did for me was to put Waze and Pandora into one app for me. I don't think my stereo is set up to work with it. I watched another YouTube video that mentioned an icon that you should see on your menu, that I don't have. Neither does my GM truck, which is almost identical to what they showed in that video. I'll just have to learn to live without it.
