Anything is possible when you’ve been taught that the constitution was written by evil dead white men and that America is the oppressive empire responsible for the world’s ills.

“If I remember correctly, ACA was upheld in the court because the Dems finally admitted that it was merely a tax”

ACA was upheld by scotus not because the dems said it was a tax - they foamed at the mouth that it was not - but because scotus said they were wrong; that it was, in fact, a tax, and legal under congress’ ability to impose taxes. But even that decision was flawed, as the language of the bill calls it a penalty. It should have been declared unconstitutional and sent back for a rewrite as a tax.

I don't expect to see armies of door kicking thugs wearing masks taking your guns en mass, this year. It is still on an individual basis.

Caught with a normal capacity magazine at a traffic stop, no guns at all, busted and sent to prison? Already SOP in NY.

Ex girlfriend declares you mentally ill? Door kickers and confiscation, SOP California.

One by one.

And since anyone who has a MAGA hat is by definition, insane and violent....... Next year? No..... That's silly. It's the folk who are doxxed by an assistant county clerk as registered gun owners and anonymous complaints of violent tendencies on social media...... THAT will get support from an Obama Judge to be grounds to take your property for public safety.

Even in New York the scum in power know that when the door kicking begins citizens will rise up. So first, you have to organize the Social Media to censor those communications. Algorithms must be in place to block warning messages.

So it won't be until Google & Yahoo & Facebook have perfected the censorship software for China and the EU that anyone dare mass confiscation. Give them until 2020 to get the bugs out & get Liz Warren elected.

Any accurate prediction today sounds like paranoid fantasy.

In a world where an old Nazi billionaire sponsors riots, paid actresses as protesters, is in partnership with the First Communist Party endorsed (ex) President to launder money, ( from anonymous foreign donors the last decade, with no legal action taken ) and the Democrats have a Presidential candidate who honeymoons in Moscow....... ( to attend KGB training )

How can you tell paranoia from the fact that paid rioters actually are bussed to your town?

Both an explanation of how the Democrats got into the current positions of less power, and a preview of the tools ( excuses ) that will be used to overthrow the Constitution and give them permanent power.

Electoral College votes are by population. Thus, importing illegal immigrants and giving them dishonest census status gives places like CA & NY more votes.

Gerrymandering is adjusting the lines on the map to favor a demographic and give one side an edge. It's been a bipartisan phenomena for a long time, but when the Reps took more State legislatures, it's become "a horrible thing the evil enemy does to us." If the situation was reversed, it'd be a Sacred Foundation Of Our Democracy.

The current use of illegal immigrants to commit massive vote fraud is going to be a serious problem, not in the distant future, but this next Month.

That representatives are apportioned by population, whether legal residents or not, is often overlooked. However, it may not have as large an effect as you might initially think. I suspect there are as many illegals living in Devon Nunes's (R) district as there are in Jim Costa's (D). Probably as many in Texas as California.
Once they all receive amnesty and register as democrats then all bets are off.

Time to go back to governors appointing senators. That’s how it was supposed to be. Changing that altered the balance. Do you think we’d have the debt we do if the senate represented the states, as it was designed? The percentage of the population represented by the party in the majority in the senate should be irrelevant. The senators are supposed to represent the states, not the people. Every state with equal representation.

Even leftists with a brain can match names, add 2+2 and not get 22.

As to Constitutional changes..... I fear that there is no way to revert back to the State government choosing Senators without a Convention. That's where the fear comes from. The amount of power Hydra can exert to make any changes bad with the full cooperation of a dishonest media would overpower any well intentioned folk's best efforts.

Cynical & pessimistic, yes. Can I think any other way when a Bernie fan can attempt to mass murder Republican Congressmen and the News applauds him?

When Congresscritters openly call for mobs to attack their enemies?

Things are going to get worse.

No one listened to Cassandra. That's why her very name is a warning.

“Why would I want my Governor to appoint my senator?”

I misspoke. I meant state government, not governors.

The people who wrote the constitution struck a very clever power sharing balance between the three branches of government and between the fed and the states. The people directly vote for representatives in the people’s house. These representatives represent the people of the states at the federal level. The senators, elected by state government, represent the interests of the states at the federal level. The people have a say in who those senators are via their selection of their state government. Currently, state governments have no representation at the federal level. This creates a whole bevy of issues, from unfunded mandates, to crushing federal debt, to the hot-headed politicalization of the “world’s most deliberative body”. I guarandamntee you that there would be no unfunded state budget busting federal mandates if the senators worked for the state, as was intended. Shall we directly vote for federal judges too? Those are currently appointed by the president. If we did, California and New York get to elect all of them. The electoral college gives smaller states a somewhat more equal vote in the operation of the federal government, including the appointment of judges via the election of the president. We should repeal the 17th amendment, and substitute it with a fix for the problems that led to its adoption.

In one of the videos, the camera panned back, down the block, and you could see a cop on a motorcycle just sitting there parked, looking toward the camera. There's no way he didn't know this was going on.

Another "perspective"...

Driver pushes through protesters in downtown Portland

quote:

The driver was in a silver Lexus sedan when he or she drove into the crowd, striking a man and then accelerating down the street.

At the time, the walk sign was on in the crosswalk. In the video, the driver is seen making a right turn into the crosswalk, where the pedestrians had the right of way.

Striking the man? He was pushing against the front bumper! The driver only accelerated once the guy got off the front of his car. The light can be seen in the crosswalk. Not the crosswalk he came from though. Most of them were not in the crosswalk. It was just a mob in the street.

You cannot be civil with people who want to destroy your way of life. I tend to agree with Mrs. Clinton. Unfortunately for her, it means the era of conservatives trying to be nice is over. Republicans are finally waking up to the reality of the war the left has been waging for the last hundred years. It’s about damn time.
