Agreed. How is proving you told someone something happened actual proof that it happened. Or more to the point, proof that the accused actually committed the act, as opposed to someone else?

Destroy the me too movement by showing obvious false accusations are real?

Wolf! Wolf!

It's destroying more than just the pound me too movement. I just saw a story on FBN this AM talking about how women in business are suddenly finding themselves not invited to business lunches, after work business dinners, or the weekend golf outings. It's becoming seen as simply dangerous to expose yourself, as a successful business person, to the potential baseless allegations. If the women are excluded, it's much harder for them to claim something happened at that event. It's not a sexist thing. It's simply a defensive thing. The sad thing for these women, is that they are being excluded from events where high end business deals happen. This is creating a glass ceiling for women, not because they are seen as being unable to do the job, but rather because of the potential that when they feel they aren't getting all they should, they may choose to destroy a man's entire career with false accusations. It may not be right, but it certainly is justified when you see the power of a baseless accusation in play.

Scott Adams has an interesting take on Ford's accusations. There are 3 possibilities: (1) He did assault her, (2) he didn't assault her and she's lying, or (3) he didn't assault her and she has a false memory of the incident. Scott says he believes #3 is far and away the most likely.

According to Scott, research shows our memories are not nearly as reliable as we think they are. Research has proved that our memories of incidents are not like "video recordings" of the incident, but a reconstruction where we remember a few details while our brain fills in the rest. It is EXTREMELY easy for an interviewer to create a false memory by the questions they ask. The example he gave is let's say you see some flashing lights in the sky one night and you're convinced they're a UFO. You tell your buddy about it and he says "Wow, that's pretty amazing! Do you remember if it was cigar-shaped or saucer-shaped?" Now you didn't originally say anything about the shape, which probably means you didn't notice one, but you start thinking about it and say "Hmm, I think it was kind of cigar-shaped" and next thing you know you've convinced yourself you saw a cigar-shaped UFO, and from that point on when you tell the story you remember seeing a cigar-shaped UFO.

So MAYBE somebody did try to have his way with Ms. Ford ~35 years ago. But somehow she didn't figure out it was Cavanaugh until 2012? Even if she thinks she's telling the truth, the odds that her memory is accurate are NOT high.

An example of how fallible memory is starts with how little you really see with your eyes and your brain fills in the blanks. At night I look all around the outside of what I'm looking at to develop more hard information for my brain to work with.

Memory is a funny thing.

I suspect some of those cognitive elements are in play here.

There was a twitter post from one of the people that Ford has stated was at this incident. He has denied being there and having any knowledge of what she was talking about. He went further and said that based on the description Ford provided she might have confused another classmate with Kavanuagh and that classmate lived in a house right where Ford said the incident took place.

I really think #3 is what is going on here.

So kinda of sad for our country that a sitting US President was laughed at by world leaders to his face. Anyone ever remember that happening before?

From the comments, "Laughter from the UN delegates, or a Nervous Twitter, as they realize that they are just this close >][< to watching the U.S. gravy-train pull out of the station?"

https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2018/09/the y-all-laughed.php

Also, some report that the laughter was in response to what Trump said to a heckler.

The laughter of clowns is irrelevant. I believe he knows who his audience really is.

Watching the video, there's a comment from an individual in the audience immediately prior to the President's "so true" reaction to that person. Can't hear what that person said though. The laughter appears to be with, not at, the President as he deals with the unexpected comment from whomever that was in the audience.

Just my take on it.

Curious to hear what the comment was...

CNN will edit the video to show Trump say hello, and people laugh. The rest of the networks will run with it.

Interesting take on the Rod business.

The Media has lied about this for days. First, Rod was fired, then he quit, then he tried to quit, then he went to the White House to see Donald, when every other human on the planet knew ( or would know if he read a newspaper or watched tv news or listened to radio news ) that Trump was out of town at the U.N. tearing socialism a new one.

Leaks, made up from nothing, or rumors, the Media reported lies for days.

So, I like the idea of Trump giving Rod the job of leading the prosecution of the Clinton minion FBI/DOJ crimes involving the courts and warrants, it's perfect to get the heat off the AG.

maybe even have Rod reopen the Hillary crimes folder, after the others are being charged. ( unlikely, before the mid term election..... But after? That would work. )

So with this new accuser of Kavanaugh, it's gotten to where we are expected to believe that Kavanaugh, in high school, was a serial gang rapist. One thing the experts on sex crimes tell us, is that this sort of behavior is an uncontrollable compulsion. We are told that people like this simply do not stop what they are doing, they get caught. Dealing with kids for a job, I've had to sit through training that I wish I could forget about. Everything I've been taught, tells me that a young man doing these things, will have people who accuse him. Often the accusers are dismissed, but the complaint is documented. Every time they get away with a sexual assault, reinforces the idea that they will not be caught. Often there will be a trail of formal complaints by the time an accuser is taken seriously.

In the case of Kavanaugh, there have been zero formal complaints against him. This simply defies what we are being told about serial sex offenders. There is a reason they have to be registered. I can believe that someone can grope someone once or twice and not have a formal complaint made. Do it often enough, and complaints will be lodged. Rape often enough, as we are being told he has done, and there will certainly be formal complaints. Yet, for some reason, those complaints simply do not exist. To say this fails the smell test is an understatement.

The really sad thing I see here, is that the left who claims to be the champions of women's rights, is active in reinforcing the idea that women will make these accusations for petty reasons. That just makes it that much more difficult for a real victim of a real predator. Very sad.

Just thought of something. The “corroboration” statements claiming Ford told others of this are from after 2016, with the exception of her husband. When did Trump publish his list of potential judges? Have demoracts been systematically creating dirt on all these people since the list was published so that the evidence doesn’t look planted? Paranoid? No. A healthy distrust based on experience.

It's been theorized that in 2012, when it was thought that Romney might become president, and Kavanaugh was thought to be Romney's first pick for SCOTUS, that the "seed" was planted by her disclosing this to her therapist. It didn't need to be used then, but was handy in 2018. Her therapist must suck though. She got all kinds of details wrong in her notes.

BTW, I'm now finding that this third accuser says she attended these "gang rape" parties repeatedly! Supposedly Kavanaugh was a regular. WTF was she doing as a regular? It's almost like they are flaunting the fact that they are destroying a good man's reputation with completely unbelievable stories.

More amazing . . . is that she was the only adult present . . she was in college and the rest were minors, in high school.

She saw terrible things happening and did what? . . . . kept coming back. Yeah, her and over 100 folks . . . . all who now apparently have amnesia.

Wild times . . . .

And the best part - NO police reports, NO rumors (not that HS kids spread sex rumors, especially not those Catholic kids), NO medical reports, NO upset parents (have we noticed that no parents of the past kids are stepping up saying "yea, my daughter went through this but we kept her quiet so our name wasn't ruined")...

And I agree with Court - what the hell was wrong with this chick, that she kept coming back from college, TEN TIMES, to "rape parties"? Was she mad they never drugged and raped her?

The desire is no citizen be allowed to sell or give a firearm to another. Thus no private ownership of guns. Thus no private property.

Thus no freedom.

Simple.
