Damn. This is what sucks about getting older - you lose a lot of your favorites. Rest in Peace, Mr. Reynolds. You will be missed.

I know I've taken the German attendees of Homecoming to the unique spy-themed restaurant in Milwaukee called the Safe House: But I don't think I've taken any of the 'normal' attendees... There's a red light inside the restaurant and a bell (if I remember correctly) that sounds periodically. Rumor has it that it happens whenever someone tries to move the red heart on the Burt Reynolds poster in the Ladies restroom (scroll down to see).

He was one of my idols in my early years. I used to quote him about why I raced dirt track cars so intently back in the early eighties....."I like to show off", truer words.....RIP

He used to have a house on the lake right down from the Honda shop where I worked way back when. Never met him, but he would wave back if he was in the yard when you rode by.

I was given a collection of VHS tapes called "The Collection". It was 50 episodes of Gunsmoke including the original where John Wayne introduced Jim Arness. I started watching them and during one episode here comes Burt Reynolds, the half breed. He played the character well and was good friends with Marshall Dillon. It was great to see him that young again. RIP
