I found out the bearings in my Foredom handpieces are the same as skateboard wheels. 608Z
Handpieces came with ABEC3 bearings.
I have replaced all wit ABEC7+ skateboard bearings.

So fast and smooth, handpiece rarely gets hot now.

I do love that amongst this group, we'll find a way to geek out, Buell MC or no.

Mom took me to Rivergate mall, they had a sporting good shop that could make you a board. Year 1978.

Gordon/Smith Fibreflex shortboard.
Cell Blox
Lightning trucks
Faffner (sp?) bearings
Sims Snake wheels.

Assorted stickers.

By the time they had polymer wheels instead of steel, I was building gliders, and boarding wasn't my thing anymore. Not that I didn't suck at it.

I did play hackey sack. And the 3 stick thing whose name I've long forgotten. Wasn't as much fun as playing lawn darts by tossing them over a ranch house. And dodging them.

Come to think of it, most of my childhood would get my parents arrested today.

Zac,

I wish I could get shots that good of the Cooper's and Red Tail hawks inhabiting my neighborhood.

A young Cooper's hawk was stalking my Blue and Gold Macaw, Oscar, last night as he watched me work on my sportster project.

Oscar just kept yelling: "HELLO!", not realizing he was attracting the young predator.

...and steel wheels? Pshaw, my first wheels were clay...

Damn I feel old after typing that.

Clay.
1/2 a step up from steel only because they were wider.

They were the direct cause for several of my scars...

No link. No picture. Ran into a couple of older gentlemen in a bar after work today. One was wearing an S3 (the aircraft) shirt. I worked on S3 gear back in the day, so I introduced myself. Turns out they were both pilots, long since retired from both the Navy and the airlines. We shot the shit for a while and reminisced. It was fun. That is all.

When was the last time you said the phrase '...need plugs, wires, cap and rotor'?

All my 2.2 turbo cars (and turbo minivan) run a distributor. So does my 72 Satellite wagon...for now (genIII hemi going in at some point though).

I tried really hard to justify keeping the points distributor in the'57 (just so I'm immune to EMP attacks ya know), but after all the 327 likes to rev way past where they are happy so HEI got the nod.

and an extra module in the glove box, wrapped in tinfoil of course

as a side note, I recently opened the toolbox drawer with my distributer wrenches in it and my 30 year old buddy said "whats wrong with those??"
Ugh.

why am I in this room?

I wonder what it took to run one engine backwards or did the hulk have the goodies? (I skipped through the video, so would have missed it.)

I think it was done with a different camshaft and ignition, etc. but I think it has also been done with a different set of reduction gears. I'm too lazy to look, but there were a lot of Misquitos made with Merlins, and they might well have been counter-rotating because it was a handful. A lot of four engine heavies and transports were made as well, but I'm guessing they might have rotated the same direction.
