Amazing concert at Hollywood Bowl last night. Normally we don't go to huge-venue concerts; we're fond of musicians, actors, dancers in more intimate settings but we were blown freaking away. How awesome do you have to be to have the LA Philharmonic open for you? You have to be Rodrigo y Gabriela awesome!! They've been described as "Heavy Metal Flamenco" - you can hear the influences but this style is unique to them. First set: LA Philharmonic. Second Set Rodrigo y Gabriela accompanied by the LA Phil. Third set Rodrigo y Gabriela took the stage alone and brought the autdience out of their seats! They are an amazingly humble duo for being so freaking magnificent! Those guys are AWESOME. Heard them first about 7 years ago. Lucky you Steve! <edit> Their own stuff is fabulous but they do a few covers. Metallica's Orion is beautiful. (Message edited by zac4mac on August 19, 2018) | ||
